Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport (GDN) is the airport for Gdańsk, on Poland's Baltic coast, and for the wider Tricity of Gdańsk, Sopot and Gdynia. It stands in the Matarnia district on the city's northwestern edge, about 12 km (7.5 miles) from Gdańsk's Main Town, 10 km (6 miles) from Sopot and 23 km (14 miles) from Gdynia.
Most flights are international. Wizz Air and Ryanair fly the most routes, to the UK, Scandinavia, Southern Europe and beyond, while LOT Polish Airlines links Gdańsk with Warsaw and several European cities. Lufthansa, KLM, Finnair, SAS, Norwegian and Swiss connect the airport with Frankfurt, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Oslo and Zurich, and holiday charters fly to the Mediterranean in summer. The airport handled about 7.4 million passengers in 2025.
All passenger flights use Terminal T2, with Schengen gates on one side of the first floor and non-Schengen gates on the other. A covered footbridge links the terminal with its railway station, where trains run toward Gdańsk Wrzeszcz, Sopot, Gdynia and the Kashubian lakes.
From the airport, most travelers head for the hotels and apartments of Gdańsk's Main Town, Wrzeszcz and Oliwa, the beaches and spa town of Sopot, or the port city of Gdynia. Others continue to the Westerplatte peninsula, the ferry terminals, or along the coast toward the Hel Peninsula.

Arrival tips for Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport
Flights from Poland and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Turkey or Egypt, you go through border control first, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES).
Gdańsk has one passenger terminal, T2, so every flight arrives in the same place: baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor, on the right side of the main hall as seen from the entrance. Car rental desks and the information desk are nearby. Pre-booked drivers usually meet passengers in the public arrivals hall.
For public transport, follow the signs to the covered footbridge and the railway station in front of the terminal; for Gdańsk's center, change at Gdańsk Wrzeszcz. City buses 110, 120 and 210 stop opposite the terminal next to parking lot P1, and night bus N3 runs late in the evening. Taxis wait at the stand outside the terminal entrances.
