Our Puerto Vallarta airport shuttle is a private van for your party only: it leaves as soon as you're through arrivals instead of waiting to fill seats or stopping at other hotels along Highway 200. There's room for suitcases, surfboards and golf bags, so it suits families, groups and wedding parties heading north to Nuevo Vallarta, Punta de Mita or Sayulita.

Landing at Puerto Vallarta Airport

Puerto Vallarta International Airport (Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz, PVR) sits in Jalisco about 1 km north of Marina Vallarta, just south of the Ameca River and the state line with Nayarit. International flights arrive at Concourse B, a satellite building with 15 gates; domestic flights use Concourse A. Immigration can take 30–60 minutes on peak winter weekends, then baggage claim and customs, where a red-or-green light decides whether your bags are inspected.

Typical drive times from the airport: Marina Vallarta and the Hotel Zone 5–15 minutes, downtown and the Romantic Zone 15–25 minutes, Nuevo Vallarta 20–30 minutes, Bucerías 30–40 minutes, La Cruz de Huanacaxtle 35–45 minutes, Punta de Mita 45–60 minutes, Sayulita 60–75 minutes and San Pancho 75–90 minutes. Traffic on Highway 200 is heaviest in the afternoon and in high season.

Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta both run on Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year, even though Nuevo Vallarta is in Nayarit, so set pick-up times in local time.

Give the exact address and area

"Vallarta" covers two states: Marina Vallarta, the Hotel Zone, downtown, the Romantic Zone and Conchas Chinas are in Jalisco, while Nuevo Vallarta, Flamingos, Bucerías, Punta de Mita and Sayulita are in Nayarit, and they are priced differently.

Gated resorts and private villas

Punta de Mita and many Nuevo Vallarta developments have a guarded entrance. Add the resort or villa name and any gate instructions so the driver is let in.

Hillside rentals

Many vacation rentals in the Romantic Zone and Conchas Chinas sit on steep, narrow cobblestone streets where a large van may not reach the door. Mention it when booking.

Luggage

Most vehicles allow one suitcase and one carry-on per person. Declare surfboards, golf bags and other oversized items in advance.

Entry

Where will my driver meet me at Puerto Vallarta Airport?

Outside the terminal. After immigration, baggage claim and customs, walk through the hall of timeshare and tour sellers without stopping and go out the main doors, where your representative waits with your name. Representatives can't enter the customs area.

Should I buy transportation from the agents inside the terminal?

No. The sellers in the corridor after customs mostly offer timeshare presentations in exchange for discounted rides or tours. If you have a booking, keep walking to the exit.

How long is the drive from PVR to downtown Puerto Vallarta and the Romantic Zone?

About 15–25 minutes, depending on traffic. Marina Vallarta and the Hotel Zone are closer, around 5–15 minutes.

How long does it take to reach Nuevo Vallarta?

About 20–30 minutes. Nuevo Vallarta is just across the Ameca River in Nayarit.

How far is Punta de Mita or Sayulita from the airport?

About 45–60 minutes to Punta de Mita and 60–75 minutes to Sayulita. San Pancho is about 75–90 minutes. Times vary with traffic and the exact location of your property.

Can I take an Uber from Puerto Vallarta Airport?

Ride-hailing apps can't pick up at the arrivals curb. Travelers who use them cross the pedestrian bridge over Highway 200 and order from the other side, carrying their luggage. A pre-booked transfer meets you outside the terminal.

Is Nuevo Vallarta in a different time zone from Puerto Vallarta?

No. Puerto Vallarta, Nuevo Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit all use Central Standard Time (UTC−6) all year.

How long do immigration and customs take at PVR?

Usually less than an hour, but lines can reach 30–60 minutes for immigration alone on busy winter weekends. Customs uses a red-or-green light to pick bags for inspection.

Which concourse does my flight use?

International flights use Concourse B, the satellite building, and domestic flights use Concourse A. A new terminal is under construction and is expected to open in 2027.

Is transportation available for late-night and early-morning flights?

Transportation can be scheduled for late arrivals and early departures. Availability must be confirmed through the booking system, so book ahead.

Can I book transportation to an Airbnb or vacation rental?

Yes, provided the vehicle can reach it safely. Enter the full address and access instructions, and mention steep or narrow streets in the Romantic Zone or Conchas Chinas.

Is Airport Transportation the same as Puerto Vallarta International Airport?

Commonly Toyota Hiace, Volkswagen Transporter, Mercedes Sprinter, Volkswagen Crafter, Chevrolet Tahoe, and Chevrolet Suburban.

Do you have insurance?

Yes. We carry insurance with complete liability for all passengers while using our services.

Do you provide baby seats?

Baby seats are provided with prior notice, subject to availability, one seat maximum per vehicle.

How far in advance should I book?

You can book any time in advance; we suggest one week to one day ahead. Same-day reservations are available.

No. Prices are set per passenger range or per vehicle, not per age.

Is my reservation refundable?

Yes. Cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before your pick-up and you are refunded in full. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before service are not refundable.

Do drivers speak English?

Yes. While their English may not be native-level, drivers have the skills to communicate with passengers.

Are tips mandatory?

Tips are not mandatory but are highly recommended; drivers earn them through service quality.

What currencies are accepted?

All prices are in USD. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the charge at its own exchange rate.

Are pets allowed?

We can transport domestic pets kept in cages that fit in a normal vehicle.

Is there room for luggage?

Yes. There is plenty of room for one suitcase and one carry-on per person.
