About Aeroparque Jorge Newbery

Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) is the city airport of Buenos Aires, Argentina, on the Río de la Plata waterfront in the Palermo neighborhood. Most domestic flights in and out of Buenos Aires use it, along with a growing list of regional international routes, while long-haul flights use Ezeiza (EZE), about 38 km away.

Aerolíneas Argentinas uses Aeroparque as its domestic hub, with flights to Bariloche, Córdoba, Mendoza, Salta, Iguazú, El Calafate and Ushuaia, among others. JetSMART and Flybondi fly many of the same domestic routes. International flights connect Aeroparque with Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, Uruguay, Peru and Colombia, on airlines including GOL, LATAM, Sky Airline, Avianca and Paranair.

Passengers use one terminal, with the domestic and international sectors side by side. Check-in counters and the public arrivals areas are on the ground floor; security, immigration and the boarding gates are upstairs.

Because the airport sits inside the city, Palermo, Recoleta, Retiro, downtown around the Obelisco, Puerto Madero and San Telmo are all a short drive away, and the Buquebus ferry terminal for boats to Uruguay is nearby on the same waterfront.

Arrival tips for Aeroparque Jorge Newbery

On a domestic flight, walk from the gate down to the ground floor, collect your bags at the belts and step out into the public arrivals area. On an international flight, follow the signs to Argentine immigration first, then collect your luggage and pass through customs before you exit. Free luggage carts are available in arrivals.

The ground floor has ATMs, a Banco de la Nación Argentina branch for currency exchange in the public arrivals area, and a Farmacity pharmacy. Tienda León sells tickets for its bus to central Buenos Aires at a booth in the arrivals area across from the baggage belts. Taxi and remis tickets with a fixed fare for your destination are sold at machines in the terminal. If someone has booked a car for you, meet them in the arrivals hall rather than accepting rides offered inside the terminal.

There is no left-luggage service or lockers in the terminal. Argentina uses Argentina Time (UTC-3) all year, and the currency is the Argentine peso.
