Menorca Airport (MAH) is the only airport on Menorca, one of Spain's Balearic Islands in the western Mediterranean. Locally it is often called Mahón or Maó airport, after the island's capital.
Vueling, Iberia and Ryanair fly year-round to Barcelona, Madrid and Málaga, and Barcelona is by far the busiest route. From spring to autumn the schedule grows with seasonal flights from the UK on easyJet, Jet2, TUI and British Airways, and from France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and the Netherlands on airlines such as Transavia, Volotea, Lufthansa, Edelweiss and ITA Airways. The airport handled about 4.2 million passengers in 2025, with most of them between April and October.
All flights use one terminal, with the arrivals hall on Floor 0, check-in on Floor 1 and the departure gates on Floor 2.
The airport stands inland about 4.5 km (2.8 miles) southwest of Mahón, close to the village of Sant Climent. Many travelers head into Mahón and its harbor or to the nearby resorts of Es Castell, Binibeca and Punta Prima. Others cross the island on the Me-1 road to Ciutadella, or continue to the south coast beaches at Son Bou and Cala Galdana and the north coast around Fornells.

Arrival tips for Menorca Airport
Flights from Spain and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you fly in from outside the Schengen area, as many summer passengers do from the UK, you wait in line at passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System.
Menorca has one terminal, so there is no terminal to choose. Baggage claim and the arrivals hall are on Floor 0. In the arrivals hall you will find the Menorca Island Council tourist office, lost and found, and the car rental desks.
Outside on Floor 0, official taxis wait at the signed taxi stand; Aena advises using only that stand. Bus line 10 to Mahón's bus station leaves from the stop on Floor 1 by departures, and from there other lines continue across the island. Pre-booked drivers usually meet passengers in the arrivals hall.
On peak summer days, when many charter flights land together, passport control, baggage claim and the taxi line can be slow, so allow extra time.
Ground transportation
Bus line 10 suits travelers staying in Mahón; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier for resorts, villas and Ciutadella.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Menorca airport from Mahón?
Menorca Airport is about 4.5 km (2.8 miles) southwest of Mahón (Maó), the island's capital, near the village of Sant Climent. Bus line 10 reaches Mahón's bus station in about 10 minutes, and taxis and pre-booked cars wait outside the terminal for the short drive into town or to the harbor.
Is Menorca airport the same as Mahón airport?
Yes. Menorca Airport stands just outside Mahón, so many travelers and airlines call it Mahón or Maó airport, and its code is MAH. It is the only airport on Menorca, so every flight to the island lands here. The old Mahón airfield nearby is now used only by light aircraft.
How do I get from Menorca airport to Ciutadella?
Ciutadella is at the western end of Menorca, across the island from the airport on the Me-1 road. There is no direct airport bus, so on public transportation you take line 10 to Mahón's bus station and change to a bus for Ciutadella. A taxi or pre-booked car drives you straight there, which is easier with luggage.
Is there a bus from Menorca airport?
Yes. Bus line 10 links the airport with Mahón's bus station in about 10 minutes, from early morning to late evening, with more departures from June to September. The stop is on Floor 1 by departures. From Mahón, other lines run to Ciutadella and the resorts, though connections can be slow.
Where is the taxi stand at Menorca airport?
The official taxi stand is outside the arrivals area on Floor 0 of the terminal. Aena advises taking taxis only from this signed stand and not from drivers offering rides elsewhere. In July and August the line can be long when several flights land at once, so a pre-booked car is easier at peak times.
How many terminals does Menorca airport have?
Menorca Airport has one terminal for all flights, Schengen and non-Schengen. Arrivals and baggage claim are on Floor 0, check-in is on Floor 1, and the boarding area with the departure gates is on Floor 2. All arriving passengers leave through the same arrivals hall.
Which airlines fly to Menorca?
Vueling, Iberia and Ryanair fly year-round, mainly to Barcelona, Madrid and Málaga. From spring to autumn, easyJet, Jet2, TUI and British Airways add many routes to the UK, and Transavia, Volotea, Lufthansa, Edelweiss, ITA Airways and others link Menorca with France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the Netherlands.
Is Menorca airport open all year?
Yes. The airport is open all year, and flights to Barcelona and Madrid run through the winter. Most international routes are seasonal, though, so the airport is much busier from April to October than in winter, when many travelers from abroad connect through Barcelona or Madrid.
Is there a lounge at Menorca airport?
Yes. The Tramuntana VIP Lounge is airside past security and duty-free, near gate 9, and serves Schengen and non-Schengen flights. Eligible airline passengers, Aena Club members and lounge-program cardholders such as Priority Pass can use it, and its opening hours are shorter from November to March.
What do I need to enter Spain at Menorca airport?
Spain is in the Schengen area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks, while arrivals from outside it, such as the UK, go through passport control. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation.
Where can I park at Menorca airport?
Aena runs the parking at Menorca Airport: the P1 general parking lot in front of the terminal, Express parking for short stays and pickups, and Long Stay for longer trips. You can book ahead through the Aena app or website, or drive in without a reservation and pay before you leave.
Where are the car rental desks at Menorca airport?
The car rental desks are on Floor 0 of the terminal, near the arrivals hall. Aena lists Sixt, Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Enterprise, and rental cars are kept in a dedicated parking lot beside the terminal. Other companies meet customers at the airport or run shuttles to their own lots nearby.
How do I get from Menorca airport to the ferry port?
Mahón's harbor is a short drive from the airport, and Ciutadella's port is across the island at the western end. Ferries to Mallorca and mainland Spain sail from both ports. A taxi or pre-booked car takes you straight to the terminal; by bus, line 10 runs to Mahón, with a change for Ciutadella.
