Valencia Airport (VLC) is the airport for Valencia, on Spain's Mediterranean coast, and for the surrounding Valencian Community. It stands in Manises, about 8 km (5 miles) west of Valencia city center, beside the A-3 highway to Madrid and close to the A-7 coastal route.
Most traffic is international. Ryanair, Vueling and Wizz Air fly the most routes, to cities across Spain and Europe, while Iberia and its regional partner Air Nostrum link Valencia with Madrid and other Spanish cities. Lufthansa, Air France, KLM, easyJet, Transavia, Volotea and Binter Canarias add flights to Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Amsterdam, London and the Canary Islands. The airport handled about 11.8 million passengers in 2025.
All flights use one terminal, built in stages and joined inside, with a single security area leading to gates 1 to 22. Gates 1 to 4 handle non-Schengen flights, and a regional hall at gates 12 to 22 has the Metrovalencia station on its ground floor.
From the airport, most travelers head into Valencia's old town, the City of Arts and Sciences, the Malvarrosa beaches and the port, or on to the city's train stations. Others continue south to Benidorm and the Costa Blanca or north to Castellón.

Arrival tips for Valencia Airport
Flights from Spain and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK or North Africa, you queue at passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System.
Valencia has one terminal, so there is no terminal to choose: after baggage claim you walk through customs into the arrivals hall. Lost property and medical services are inside the terminal if you need them.
For the city, follow the signs to the Metro: lines 3 and 5 leave from the station on the ground floor of the regional terminal, about every 15 minutes on weekdays, with a Metrovalencia information office in arrivals. Line 150 buses run into the city, and official taxis wait at the rank outside. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you in the arrivals hall.
Spain is on Central European Time and uses the euro.
Ground transportation
The Metro is quick and cheap into the city; a taxi or pre-booked car is easier with luggage or for addresses away from the stations.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Valencia airport from the city center?
Valencia Airport is in Manises, about 8 km (5 miles) west of Valencia city center, beside the A-3 highway. Metro lines 3 and 5 reach the center in about 15 minutes, the line 150 bus takes about 30 to 35 minutes, and taxis and pre-booked cars wait outside the terminal.
Is Valencia airport the same as Manises airport?
Yes. Valencia Airport stands in the town of Manises, so many people call it Manises Airport or Valencia-Manises. Its code is VLC. It is the only commercial airport for the city of Valencia, so any flight to Valencia, Spain, lands here.
Is there a Metro from Valencia airport?
Yes. Metrovalencia lines 3 and 5 start at the airport station on the ground floor of the regional terminal. Trains run about every 15 minutes on weekdays and every 20 minutes at weekends and on holidays, reaching the city center in about 15 minutes. Line 5 continues to the port at Marítim.
How do I get from Valencia airport to the port?
Metro line 5 runs from the airport to the port area at Marítim in about 30 minutes, with no change of train. A taxi or pre-booked car takes you door to door to the port and the beaches, which is easier with luggage or when you are joining a cruise.
Is there a bus from Valencia airport?
Yes. Fernanbus line 150 links the airport with Valencia, stopping in Manises, Quart de Poblet and Mislata, and takes about 30 to 35 minutes to the city. It makes more stops than the Metro, so most travelers headed for the center take Metro line 3 or 5 instead.
How many terminals does Valencia airport have?
Valencia has one terminal, built in stages and joined inside, with a single security area leading to gates 1 to 22. Gates 1 to 4 handle non-Schengen flights, and gates 12 to 22 form a regional hall with the Metro station on its ground floor. All arriving passengers exit into the same arrivals hall.
Which airlines fly to Valencia?
Ryanair, Vueling and Wizz Air fly the most routes from Valencia, across Spain and Europe. Iberia and Air Nostrum serve Madrid and other Spanish cities, Lufthansa flies to Frankfurt and Munich, Air France to Paris, KLM to Amsterdam, and easyJet, Transavia, Volotea and Binter Canarias add more routes.
Is there a lounge at Valencia airport?
Yes. The Joan Olivert VIP Lounge is on the first floor of the boarding area and serves both Schengen and non-Schengen flights, from 4:00 to 23:00. Eligible business-class passengers and Aena Club cardholders enter free, and other passengers can pay to use it for up to three hours.
Where can I take a taxi at Valencia airport?
Official taxis wait at the taxi rank outside the terminal, marked on Aena's access map. Several local radio-taxi companies serve the airport, including Radio Taxi Manises and Radio Taxi Valencia. A taxi goes door to door to the city, the port and the beaches, which is easiest with luggage.
What do I need to enter Spain at Valencia airport?
Spain is in the Schengen area, so flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. Arrivals from outside it, such as the UK, go through passport control. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation.
Where can I park at Valencia airport?
Aena runs the car parks at Valencia Airport: P1, the general car park; Express, for short stays and pick-ups; and Long Stay, for longer trips. You can book P1 and Long Stay ahead online through Aena Parking, and there are also spaces for motorbikes and bicycles.
