Zakynthos International Airport "Dionysios Solomos" (ZTH), named after the island-born poet, is the airport for Zakynthos (Zante), in the Ionian Sea, Greece. It sits about 4 km (2.5 miles) from Zakynthos Town, close to Laganas Bay. In 2024 it handled about 2.2 million passengers, most of them in summer.
The UK is by far the biggest market, followed by Poland, the Netherlands, Italy and Germany. easyJet, Ryanair, Jet2, TUI, Condor, Eurowings, British Airways and many other airlines fly here in summer, while Aegean Airlines, Olympic Air and Sky Express link the island with Athens.
All flights use a single terminal, completed in 2008. Because loggerhead sea turtles nest on the beaches of the National Marine Park around Laganas Bay, the airport has a night curfew: no take-offs or landings between 22:00 and 05:00, except in special circumstances. Arriving planes cross Laganas Bay and turn to land over Kalamaki beach.
From the airport, most visitors head to Laganas and Kalamaki next door, to Zakynthos Town, to Tsilivi and Alykes in the north, or to Vasilikos in the southeast. Navagio (Shipwreck) Beach is reached by boat trips from the coast.

Arrival tips for Zakynthos International Airport Dionysios Solomos
All flights arrive at the single terminal. Flights from Athens and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, as many summer visitors do from the UK, you queue at passport control, where non-EU visitors are registered in the EU's Entry/Exit System. On summer weekends, when many charter flights land close together, the terminal can be very crowded.
Once you have your bags, head outside to the taxi rank, the car rental desks and the pick-up area. Laganas and Kalamaki are only minutes away, and Zakynthos Town is a short drive; resorts in the north, such as Alykes, take longer. Pre-booked drivers usually meet you outside arrivals.
Because of the night curfew, no flights land between 22:00 and 05:00, so delayed evening flights may be diverted or rescheduled.
Greece is on Eastern European Time (EET), two hours ahead of the UK, and uses the euro.
