Airport Transportation in Barcelona
Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.
Our airport transportation in Barcelona takes you from El Prat to hotels and apartments in the Gothic Quarter, the Eixample and Barceloneta, to the cruise terminals at the port, and down the coast to Castelldefels and Sitges.
Barcelona Airport Transfers
Barcelona airport transfers start in the arrivals hall of the terminal where your flight lands, Terminal 1 for most full-service and long-haul airlines or Terminal 2 for Ryanair and easyJet, and your driver waits there with a name sign. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time, and you choose the vehicle for your party, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group with luggage.
Each Barcelona airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel or apartment in the city, to your ship at the cruise port, or to a hotel or villa in Castelldefels or Sitges. Taking a ferry on to Mallorca, Menorca or Ibiza? We drive you to the port; give us your sailing time when you book. Going on to the Costa Brava, Girona or Andorra? Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Barcelona Airport Shuttle
Our Barcelona airport shuttle is a private van for your party only, not a shared coach that stops at other hotels on the way. It leaves as soon as you are through arrivals, with room for suitcases, strollers and cruise luggage, and suits families, groups and cruise passengers heading straight to the port.
Landing at Barcelona Airport
Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport (BCN) is the airport for Barcelona and Catalonia and the second-busiest in Spain, by the sea at El Prat de Llobregat, southwest of the city. It has two terminals in separate buildings, linked by a free shuttle bus: Terminal 1 handles most flights, including most full-service and long-haul airlines, and Terminal 2, split into 2A, 2B and 2C, is used mainly by Ryanair (2B) and easyJet (2C).
Flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you come from outside the Schengen area, including the UK and the Americas, you queue at passport control, where eGates speed things up for some passports. After baggage claim you pass customs into the arrivals hall of your terminal, where pre-booked drivers meet passengers, so confirm whether you land at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 when you book.
Spain is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. It uses the euro.
Schengen entry
Spain is in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Terminal 1 or Terminal 2
The two terminals are separate buildings, so give your airline and arrival terminal when you book; your driver waits in that terminal's arrivals hall.
Gothic Quarter and El Born addresses
Many streets in the old city are pedestrian, so give your full address; your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Cruise and ferry days
For the port, give your ship or ferry name and its departure time, so your driver drops you at the right terminal.
Euro and cards
Spain uses the euro, and cards and contactless payments are widely accepted.
Before you fly to Barcelona
How Barcelona Airport pickup works
- 1
Clear arrivals
Immigration, baggage claim, then customs. Representatives can't enter those areas.
- 2
Meet your representative
At the meeting point in your confirmation. Check the company name before getting in.
- 3
Go straight there
No other stops, no other passengers.
Meet in the arrivals hall
Pre-booked drivers usually meet passengers in the arrivals hall of the terminal where the flight lands, holding a name sign.
Terminal 1 or 2
Barcelona's terminals are about 4 km apart, so confirm whether your flight arrives at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 before your driver sets off.
Don't accept a ride from someone claiming to know your booking. Check the company name and reservation details before getting in.
Return trips and flight changes
Going back to the airport
Transportation can also be booked from your hotel, resort or vacation rental to Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Your pickup time covers the drive plus check-in, security and border procedures, and your airline's instructions come first. Give the correct departure time and terminal when you book.
If your flight changes
We monitor the arrival of the flight on your reservation, but can't find you on a different one. If any of these change, update them in Manage your booking:

Where will my driver meet me at Barcelona Airport?
In the arrivals hall of the terminal where your flight lands, holding a sign with your name, after baggage claim and customs. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are separate buildings, so give your arrival terminal when you book.
How far is Barcelona Airport from the city center?
Barcelona-El Prat Airport is in El Prat de Llobregat, about 15 km (9 miles) southwest of Barcelona city center. Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are about 4 km apart by road.
Will I arrive at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 in Barcelona?
Terminal 1 handles most flights, including most full-service and long-haul airlines. Terminal 2 is used by low-cost airlines: Ryanair and others in 2B, and easyJet in 2C. Check your booking and tell us the terminal.
Can you take me to the Barcelona cruise port?
Yes. We drive you straight to your ship's terminal at the port. Give us the ship name and boarding time when you book.
Can you pick me up at the cruise port and take me to the airport?
Yes. Book a ride from the port to Barcelona Airport and give your ship's name, its arrival time, your flight details and your departure terminal.
Can you take me to Sitges or Castelldefels?
Yes. We drive door to door to hotels, apartments and villas in Castelldefels and Sitges, along the coast southwest of the airport.
Can you take me to a ferry to Mallorca, Menorca or Ibiza?
Yes. Ferries to the Balearic Islands leave from the port of Barcelona. We drive you to the port; give us your sailing time when you book.
Can you take me to the Costa Brava or Girona?
The Costa Brava and Girona are north of Barcelona, toward the French border. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Can you take me to Andorra?
Andorra is a separate country in the Pyrenees, north of Barcelona. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Do you drive to apartments and vacation rentals in Barcelona?
Yes. Give the full street address, the apartment number and any entrance details. Where the street is pedestrian, as in parts of the Gothic Quarter, your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Is there a train or bus from Barcelona Airport to the city?
Yes. The Aerobús runs from both terminals to Plaça de Catalunya, Metro L9 Sud stops at both terminals, and R2 Nord trains leave from Terminal 2. A private transfer is easier with luggage, for the cruise port or when you would rather go door to door.
Should I buy transportation from people offering rides inside Barcelona Airport?
There is no need. Booking ahead gives you a confirmed vehicle and a meeting point before you land. If someone approaches you in arrivals, check the company name against your confirmation before getting in.
What happens if my flight to Barcelona is delayed?
We monitor the flight on your reservation, so your driver at Barcelona Airport waits for the actual landing. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, update it in Manage your booking so the pickup can be moved.
Can I book a ride back to Barcelona Airport?
Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your hotel, apartment or the port. Give your flight number, departure time and departure terminal so the pickup is set for check-in and security.
Is Airport Transportation the same as Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport?
No. Airport Transportation is a private transfer service that books rides from BCN; we are not the airport or its operator. For terminals, airlines and other ways to get around, see our Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport page.

Do children pay differently than adults?

Do drivers speak English?
Yes. While their English may not be native-level, drivers have the skills to communicate with passengers.

Tips are not mandatory but are highly recommended; drivers earn them through service quality.
What currencies are accepted?
All prices are in USD. If your card is in another currency, your bank converts the charge at its own exchange rate.
