Mytilene International Airport (MJT), named "Odysseas Elytis" after the Nobel Prize-winning poet, is the airport for the island of Lesbos in the northeastern Aegean. It sits on the coast south of Mytilene, the island's capital, and is run by Fraport Greece. All flights use one small terminal; a new terminal is planned.
Aegean Airlines flies to Athens and Thessaloniki, and Sky Express to Athens, Thessaloniki, Chios, Lemnos, Samos and Rhodes; international routes run mainly in summer. Flights from Athens and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks; if you come from outside the Schengen area, for example from the UK or Israel, you go through passport control. Two car rental companies have desks on site, and pre-booked drivers meet passengers outside the arrivals exit.
Greece is on Eastern European Time (UTC+2) and switches to UTC+3 for daylight saving time from late March to late October.

Greece is in the Schengen area. Arrivals from outside it, for example from the UK or Israel, go through passport control. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation.
