Airport Transportation in San Juan
Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.
Airport transportation in San Juan reaches the hotels of Isla Verde and Condado, Old San Juan and its cruise piers, and resorts and rentals across Puerto Rico, from Dorado and Rincón in the west to Fajardo and El Yunque in the east.
San Juan Airport Transfers
Your San Juan airport transfer starts on the arrivals level (Level 1), where your driver meets you outside baggage claim at Terminal A or Terminal B in the designated pickup area for pre-arranged cars. We track your flight, and the price is fixed per vehicle before you fly.
Choose anything from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group, and ride door to door to your beach hotel in Isla Verde or Condado, a guesthouse in Old San Juan, the cruise piers, a villa in Dorado or the marinas and ferry terminal in Fajardo. San Juan airport transfers run both ways, so your ride back to SJU can go on the same booking.
San Juan Airport Shuttle
Our San Juan airport shuttle is a private van for your party only: it leaves as soon as you are out of baggage claim, with no waiting for other passengers and no stops at other hotels. There is room for suitcases plus beach, dive or golf gear when you tell us at booking, which suits families heading to the cruise piers, groups going to Fajardo for the Vieques and Culebra ferries and friends sharing a villa in Dorado or Rincón.
Landing at San Juan Airport
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU) is the main airport of San Juan and of Puerto Rico. It sits in the municipality of Carolina, next to the Isla Verde beach area east of the city.
There are two terminals: Terminal A on the south side, used mainly by JetBlue and Tradewind Aviation, and the larger Terminal B in the center, whose concourses B, C and D handle most other airlines. Baggage claim and the ground transportation area are on the arrivals level (Level 1) of both.
Puerto Rico is a US territory, so on a flight from the US mainland there is no immigration or customs: you walk straight to baggage claim. International arrivals clear US Customs and Border Protection, collect their bags and pass customs and agriculture checks, which takes about 15 to 45 minutes. Puerto Rico runs on Atlantic Standard Time (UTC-4) all year.
ID or passport
US citizens flying from the US mainland need only a valid ID, since these are domestic flights. Travelers on international flights follow the usual US entry rules, including a visa or an approved ESTA for eligible nationalities.
Agriculture inspection on the way home
When you fly back to the US mainland, checked bags go through a US Department of Agriculture inspection before airline check-in, so allow for it when you set your return pickup time.
Check your terminal
JetBlue and Tradewind Aviation use Terminal A and most other airlines use Terminal B; give the right one for your return ride, as assignments can change.
No clock change
Atlantic Standard Time matches US Eastern time in summer and is one hour ahead of it in winter. The currency is the US dollar.

How San Juan Airport pickup works
- 1
Clear arrivals
Immigration, baggage claim, then customs. Representatives can't enter those areas.
- 2
Meet your representative
At the meeting point in your confirmation. Check the company name before getting in.
- 3
Go straight there
No other stops, no other passengers.
Meet at baggage claim exit
Pre-booked drivers usually meet passengers on the arrivals level (Level 1) outside baggage claim at Terminal A or Terminal B. Pre-arranged private cars use the designated pickup areas at Terminals A and B.
Don't accept a ride from someone claiming to know your booking. Check the company name and reservation details before getting in.

Which terminal will I arrive at in San Juan?
