Airport Transportation in Turks and Caicos
Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Providenciales International Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.
Airport transportation in Turks and Caicos starts at Providenciales International Airport (PLS) on the island of Providenciales, and takes you to resorts and villas on Grace Bay, Long Bay, Turtle Cove, Leeward, Chalk Sound and Taylor Bay. This page covers arrivals at PLS only, not Grand Turk or the other islands.
Turks and Caicos Airport Transfers
Our Turks and Caicos airport transfers start right outside the arrivals exit of the terminal at Providenciales International Airport, where your driver waits after immigration and customs with a sign bearing your name. We follow your flight, so the pickup moves with your real landing time.
Choose a vehicle sized for your party, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group, and each Turks and Caicos airport transfer goes door to door to your resort, villa or marina on Providenciales. Going on to North Caicos, Middle Caicos, Grand Turk or South Caicos? Those islands are reached by ferry or domestic flight. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Turks and Caicos Airport Shuttle
Our Turks and Caicos airport shuttle is a private van for your party only. Most taxis at the airport are large vans that run shared rides and often wait to fill up; ours leaves as soon as you have your bags and goes straight to your resort or villa, with no stops for other groups. There is room for suitcases, strollers and golf or kitesurf bags, so it suits families, groups and villa stays.
Landing at Turks and Caicos Airport
Providenciales International Airport (PLS) sits in the middle of the island of Providenciales and handles more than 90% of the air traffic of the Turks and Caicos Islands. It was renamed Howard Hamilton International Airport in 2023, but the original name remains in common use. Grand Turk and South Caicos have their own airports, reached on domestic flights from the same terminal.
There is one terminal building for international and domestic flights. You show your passport, an onward or return ticket and the airline's paper immigration form in an immigration hall with 18 desks, where lines are longest on Saturdays and Sundays. Bags arrive on two belts just past immigration, then you pass customs and exit the terminal.
The airport, with customs and immigration, is open from 6 am to 8 pm. Turks and Caicos uses Eastern Time and observes daylight saving time.
Entry to Turks and Caicos
You need a valid passport and a valid onward or return ticket. US, UK and Canadian passports must be valid for the length of your stay, while other nationalities need six months of validity. Many nationalities need no visa.
Paper immigration form
Fill in the airline's paper immigration form in black or blue ink; home-printed copies are not accepted.
Customs allowance
A customs form is only needed if you carry goods above the duty-free allowance, and officers hand it out at customs.
US dollar and left-hand traffic
The US dollar is the official currency, and traffic drives on the left, which matters if you plan to rent a car for part of your stay.
Before you fly to Turks and Caicos
How Turks and Caicos Airport pickup works
- 1
Clear arrivals
Immigration, baggage claim, then customs. Representatives can't enter those areas.
- 2
Meet your representative
At the meeting point in your confirmation. Check the company name before getting in.
- 3
Go straight there
No other stops, no other passengers.
Outside arrivals
Pre-booked private drivers usually meet passengers directly outside the arrivals exit of the terminal, after immigration and customs.
Don't accept a ride from someone claiming to know your booking. Check the company name and reservation details before getting in.
Return trips and flight changes
Going back to the airport
Transportation can also be booked from your hotel, resort or vacation rental to Providenciales International Airport. Your pickup time covers the drive plus check-in, security and border procedures, and your airline's instructions come first. Give the correct departure time and terminal when you book.
If your flight changes
We monitor the arrival of the flight on your reservation, but can't find you on a different one. If any of these change, update them in Manage your booking:

How far is Turks and Caicos Airport from Grace Bay?
Providenciales International Airport is about 7 miles (11 km) from the resorts of Grace Bay Beach, a drive of 20 to 30 minutes.
Can you take me to Grace Bay resorts?
Yes. We drive you door to door to resorts and condos along Grace Bay. Give us the resort name or full address when you book.
Can you take me to a villa in Long Bay, Chalk Sound or Taylor Bay?
Yes. Enter the full villa address when you book, and add any gate code or directions in the notes so your driver can find it.
Can you take me to Turtle Cove or Leeward?
Yes. Enter your hotel, villa or marina in Turtle Cove or Leeward as your drop-off when you book, and your driver takes you straight there.
Can you take me to North Caicos, Grand Turk or the other islands?
The other islands are reached by ferry or by domestic flight, not by road. Going on to one of them? Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Is there public transport from Providenciales Airport?
No. There is no public bus service on Providenciales, and Uber and Lyft do not operate in Turks and Caicos, so a private transfer booked before you fly is the simplest way to reach your resort or villa.
Why not just take a taxi from the airport?
Most airport taxis on Providenciales are large vans that run shared rides and may wait to fill up before leaving. A private transfer is booked before you fly for your party only and goes straight to your door, with no stops for other groups.
What do I need to enter Turks and Caicos?
A valid passport and a valid onward or return ticket. US, UK and Canadian passports must be valid for the length of your stay; other nationalities need six months of validity. Many nationalities need no visa. Fill in the airline's paper immigration form in black or blue ink.
When is Providenciales Airport open?

Do you drive on the left in Turks and Caicos?
Yes, traffic drives on the left. With a private transfer you leave the driving to us.
Can I book a return transfer to Providenciales Airport?
Yes. Book a round trip, or a one-way pickup from your resort or villa, and give us your flight time. Lines at the airport are longest on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is Airport Transportation the same as Providenciales International Airport?
No. Airport Transportation is a private transfer service that books rides from PLS; we are not the airport or its operator. For terminals, airlines and other ways to get around, see our Providenciales International Airport page.
