Adelaide Airport (ADL) is the main airport for Adelaide, the capital of South Australia. It stands in the suburb of Adelaide Airport, between the city and the coast, about 6 km (4 miles) west of the Adelaide city center and a short drive from Glenelg and the western beaches.
Qantas, Virgin Australia and Jetstar link Adelaide with Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and other Australian cities, while QantasLink and Rex fly to regional South Australia, including Kangaroo Island and Port Lincoln. International airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways, Malaysia Airlines, Air New Zealand and China Southern Airlines connect Adelaide with Asia, the Middle East and New Zealand. The airport handled about 9 million passengers in calendar year 2025.
Domestic, regional and international flights all use one combined terminal, with baggage claim on the ground floor and a multi-level parking garage across the plaza. A terminal expansion, Project Flight, is underway and due for completion in 2028.
From the airport, most travelers head to hotels in the Adelaide CBD and North Adelaide, to Glenelg and Henley Beach on the coast, or on to the wine regions of the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and the Adelaide Hills.

Does Adelaide airport have a curfew?
Yes. Adelaide Airport has a curfew from 11 pm to 6 am under the Adelaide Airport Curfew Act 2000, which restricts most jet aircraft movements in those hours. Some smaller aircraft and approved flights can still operate, so a few arrivals and departures fall outside normal hours, but most flights land before 11 pm.
What do I need to enter Australia at Adelaide airport?
Every visitor except New Zealand citizens needs a visa or travel authority before flying, such as an ETA through the AustralianETA app or an eVisitor for many European passports. On arrival you clear immigration, then customs and biosecurity, where you must declare all food, plant material and animal products on your passenger card.

From the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April it moves to daylight saving time, UTC+10:30. Check your arrival time in local time, as flight apps sometimes show the time where you departed.
Is Adelaide Airport the same as Parafield Airport?
No. Adelaide Airport (ADL) at West Beach handles all scheduled passenger flights to Adelaide. Parafield Airport, in the city's northern suburbs, is a general aviation and pilot training airport with no scheduled airline service, so if your ticket says Adelaide, you land at ADL.
