About OKC Will Rogers International Airport

OKC Will Rogers International Airport (OKC) is the main airport for Oklahoma City and the busiest commercial airport in Oklahoma, in the United States. It sits about 6 miles southwest of downtown Oklahoma City. Named for the entertainer Will Rogers since 1941, it was called Will Rogers World Airport until the city renamed it in August 2024.

Southwest Airlines carries the most passengers, and Delta, American and other US airlines connect Oklahoma City with their hubs. The airport's first scheduled international route, American Airlines to Cancún, started in November 2025, after a new customs facility opened earlier that year.

All flights use one three-level terminal with 17 gates on three concourses: West (Gates 1–12), Central (Gates 14–24) and East (Gates 26–32), which opened in 2021 and has an observation deck. Baggage claim is on the lower level.

From the airport, most travelers head into downtown Oklahoma City, Bricktown and Midtown, south to Norman and the University of Oklahoma, or east to Tinker Air Force Base.

Arrival tips for OKC Will Rogers International Airport

Most flights into OKC are domestic. If you arrive from Cancún or another international flight, you clear US immigration and customs in the new customs facility before entering the public area.

From any concourse, follow the signs to baggage claim on the lower level, where there are nine belts. The terminal is compact, so the walk is short.

Once you have your bags, follow the ground transportation signs to the arrivals plaza. Taxis, rideshare and pre-booked cars each have signposted pickup areas there, and shuttle buses run from the plaza to the consolidated rental car facility and the long-term parking lots. If someone is collecting you, they can wait in the cell phone lot near the parking areas until you call.

Oklahoma City is on Central Time. Spring brings severe thunderstorms and occasional tornado warnings, which can delay flights, so keep an eye on the weather.
