Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is the main airport for Salt Lake City and the state of Utah, in the United States. It sits about 4 miles west of downtown Salt Lake City, between Interstate 80 and Interstate 215.
Delta Air Lines runs a hub here and flies the widest network, from cities across the US to Amsterdam, Paris, London Heathrow and Seoul. Southwest, American, United, Alaska, Frontier and JetBlue connect Salt Lake City with their own networks, and seasonal flights reach Mexico's beach resorts and several Canadian cities.
The airport opened a new terminal in 2020 and has been adding gates in phases since then. All flights use one terminal building with two long concourses, A and B, linked by underground walkways. The walk from the security checkpoint to the far gates can be long, so allow time.
From the airport, most travelers head to downtown Salt Lake City, the suburbs of the Wasatch Front, or the ski resorts of Park City and the Cottonwood Canyons. The TRAX light rail line runs from the airport station into downtown.

Arrival tips for Salt Lake City International Airport
Most flights into SLC are domestic. If you arrive from abroad, you clear US immigration and customs before you reach baggage claim.
From your gate, follow the signs for baggage claim. Concourse B gates are a long walk from the main terminal: you come back through the underground walkways to the central building, so allow extra time if someone is waiting for you. Baggage claim is in the main terminal, on the ground level.
Once you have your bags, follow the ground transportation signs. The TRAX light rail station sits next to the terminal and runs to downtown Salt Lake City, where you can change to buses and FrontRunner commuter trains. Taxis, rideshare, hotel shuttles and pre-booked cars each have signposted pickup areas outside the terminal. The parking garage and rental car center are part of the same complex.
Salt Lake City is on Mountain Time. In winter, roads to the ski resorts can close or need chains in snowstorms, so check conditions before you set off for the mountains.
Ground transportation
TRAX light rail suits travelers going downtown with light bags; for ski resorts and groups, a pre-booked car or shuttle is easier.
