Tucson International Airport (TUS) is the main airport for Tucson and southern Arizona, in the United States. It sits on the south side of the city, about 8 miles (13 km) south of downtown Tucson, a drive of roughly 15 to 20 minutes outside rush hour.
Six airlines fly here: Alaska Airlines, American Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Southwest Airlines, Sun Country Airlines and United Airlines. Nonstop flights link Tucson with hubs and leisure cities across the western and central United States, including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Francisco and Seattle, with more routes added in winter. The airport handled about 3.9 million passengers in fiscal year 2025.
All flights use one terminal with two concourses: Concourse A for Southwest, Sun Country and United, and Concourse B for Alaska, American and Delta. Each concourse has its own security checkpoint, and they are not connected after security. Baggage claim and ground transportation are on the lower level.
From the airport, most travelers head into downtown Tucson and the University of Arizona, to the resorts of the Catalina Foothills, or north to Oro Valley and Marana. Others continue to Saguaro National Park, Green Valley or farther afield in southern Arizona.

Arrival tips for Tucson International Airport
Almost every flight into Tucson is domestic, so you walk off the plane and straight out of the secure area, with no passport control or customs. The rare international arrival is processed in the airport's Federal Inspection Services facility. If you are visiting from abroad, you clear US immigration at your first US airport, and you need a US visa or an approved ESTA before you fly.
Whichever concourse you arrive at, follow the signs down to Baggage Claim on the lower level of the main terminal. Luggage carts are available in baggage claim.
Outside, the ground transportation areas are on islands across the roadways in front of the terminal: app rides on the first island, taxis on the second, and pre-arranged cars, limos and shuttles on the third. The Sun Tran bus stop is also on the first island, and the Rental Car Center is just outside the east exit of the terminal. Pre-booked drivers often meet passengers inside baggage claim.
Arizona stays on Mountain Standard Time all year, so set your watch on arrival.
Ground transportation
Taxis and app rides are quick for the city; a private transfer is easier with luggage, for groups or for resorts outside the center.

Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, National and Sixt are in the Rental Car Center, just outside the east exit of the main terminal, with signs from baggage claim.
Private transfer
