Airport Transportation in Basel
Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.
Our airport transportation in Basel runs from EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg to hotels, apartments and offices across the city, from the Old Town and Kleinbasel to the Messe Basel trade-fair area.
Basel Airport Transfers
Our Basel airport transfers start in the arrivals hall, where your driver waits with a sign showing your name. EuroAirport's arrivals level is split into a Swiss sector and a French sector with separate exits, so check the sector named in your confirmation before you land. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time.
Choose a vehicle sized for your party, from a sedan for a business trip to a van for a family or team, and each Basel airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel, apartment or office. Going on to Mulhouse, Colmar, Freiburg, the Black Forest or Zurich? Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Basel Airport Shuttle
Our Basel airport shuttle is a private van for your party only: it leaves as soon as you have your bags and goes straight to your address, with no stops for other passengers. There is room for suitcases, ski bags and display cases, so it suits families, trade-fair exhibitors and teams traveling together.
Landing at Basel Airport
EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg (BSL) stands on French soil in Saint-Louis, France, just northwest of Basel, and is run jointly by France and Switzerland. It has one terminal building, but the arrivals level is split into a French sector and a Swiss sector, each with its own exit, customs check and road access.
Passengers arriving from outside the Schengen area go through passport control first, then collect their bags and choose their exit. Leave through the sector named in your confirmation, because the two sides are not connected by road outside the terminal.
The airport runs on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time in summer.
Schengen entry
France and Switzerland are both in the Schengen area. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Swiss or French sector
Exit through the Swiss sector for Basel and Switzerland, or the French sector for France and Germany. Each side has its own customs check, and the roads beyond them are separate.
Two currencies
The French sector uses euros and the Swiss sector uses Swiss francs, so check which currency any charge at the airport is quoted in.

How Basel Airport pickup works
- 1
Clear arrivals
Immigration, baggage claim, then customs. Representatives can't enter those areas.
- 2
Meet your representative
At the meeting point in your confirmation. Check the company name before getting in.
- 3
Go straight there
No other stops, no other passengers.
Meet in arrivals
Pre-booked drivers wait in the arrivals hall of either the French or the Swiss sector. Confirm the sector before landing, because the two sides have separate exits and road access.
Don't accept a ride from someone claiming to know your booking. Check the company name and reservation details before getting in.
Return trips and flight changes
Going back to the airport
Transportation can also be booked from your hotel, resort or vacation rental to EuroAirport Basel–Mulhouse–Freiburg. Your pickup time covers the drive plus check-in, security and border procedures, and your airline's instructions come first. Give the correct departure time and terminal when you book.
If your flight changes
We monitor the arrival of the flight on your reservation, but can't find you on a different one. If any of these change, update them in Manage your booking:
