About Querétaro Intercontinental Airport

Querétaro Intercontinental Airport (QRO) serves the city of Querétaro and the surrounding state in central Mexico. It sits in the municipalities of Colón and El Marqués, about 33 km from the city, and roughly 150 km northwest of Mexico City.

Domestic flights link Querétaro with Mexico City, Cancún, Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana, Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta, among others. International routes reach Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Fort Worth, Denver, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Antonio in the United States, plus Madrid. The main carriers are Volaris, Viva Aerobus, Aeroméxico and TAR México, which uses Querétaro as its hub.

The airport has a single terminal. Check-in, baggage claim, customs, immigration and the arrivals hall are on the ground floor; departures use a concourse on the second floor with five gates, three of them with jet bridges.

Beyond the city's colonial center, many travelers continue to Tequisquiapan, known for its hot springs and wine routes, and to the monolith of Peña de Bernal. The airport sits next to the Querétaro Aerospace Cluster, so business traffic is steady through the week.

Arrival tips for Querétaro Intercontinental Airport

Arrivals are all on the ground floor of the single terminal, so the walk from the aircraft is short.

If you arrive on an international flight, you clear immigration first. Have your passport and your flight details ready; visitors from many countries do not need a visa, but check the rules for your passport before you travel. After immigration, collect your bags at baggage claim and pass through customs.

Domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim and then into the arrivals hall.

The arrivals hall has the car rental counters, the authorized taxi desk, snack bars and souvenir shops. There is no direct public transport from the airport to downtown Querétaro, so plan your ride before you land: a pre-booked transfer, an authorized taxi from the desk, or a rental car. If someone is meeting you, they wait in the arrivals hall or just outside the terminal doors.
