Airport Transportation in Granada
Pre-booked private transportation takes you directly from Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport to your hotel, resort or vacation rental.
After immigration, baggage claim and customs, continue outside the terminal to the meeting area named in your confirmation. Your vehicle is reserved only for the passengers on your reservation: unlike a shared shuttle, it makes no extra hotel stops for other travelers, and the price is per vehicle, not per person.
Our airport transportation in Granada runs from Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport to hotels, apartments and vacation rentals in Granada city center around the cathedral, in the Albaicín and Realejo quarters, and up the hill near the Alhambra.
Granada Airport Transfers
Our Granada airport transfers start in the arrivals hall of the single terminal, where your driver waits with a sign showing your name. We track your flight, so the pickup follows your real landing time if your flight from Barcelona, Madrid or the islands arrives early or late.
Choose a vehicle sized for your party, from a sedan for two to a van for a family or group, and each Granada airport transfer goes door to door to your hotel or apartment in the city; where cars cannot enter the old lanes of the Albaicín, your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach. Going on to the Sierra Nevada ski resort, the Costa Tropical around Almuñécar and Salobreña, or Jaén? Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Granada Airport Shuttle
Our Granada airport shuttle is a private van for your party only: it leaves as soon as you have your bags and goes straight to your hotel or apartment, with no stops for other travelers. There is room for suitcases, strollers and sports gear, so it suits families and groups visiting the Alhambra and the old town together.
Landing at Granada Airport
Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport (GRX), named after the Granada-born poet, is the airport for Granada and Jaén in Andalusia. It sits near Chauchina and Santa Fe, west of Granada. Aena runs it, and all flights use a single terminal with one runway.
Most flights come from elsewhere in Spain, with Vueling, Iberia, Binter Canarias, Air Europa and Volotea, so there is usually no passport check; Transavia flies from Amsterdam. If you fly in from outside the Schengen area, you go through passport control. The terminal is small, so baggage claim is usually quick, and pre-booked drivers meet passengers in the arrivals hall.
Spain is on Central European Time (UTC+1) and switches to UTC+2 for daylight saving time from late March to late October.
Schengen entry
Spain is in the Schengen area. Arrivals from outside it, including the UK, go through passport control. Non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Check the visa rules for your nationality before you fly.
Old town streets
Cars cannot enter much of the Albaicín and the old town, so give your full address when you book; where the street is closed to traffic, your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Euro and cash
Spain uses the euro; carry some cash for small purchases.

How Granada Airport pickup works
- 1
Clear arrivals
Immigration, baggage claim, then customs. Representatives can't enter those areas.
- 2
Meet your representative
At the meeting point in your confirmation. Check the company name before getting in.
- 3
Go straight there
No other stops, no other passengers.
Meet in the arrivals hall
Pre-booked drivers usually meet passengers in the arrivals hall of Granada's single terminal, holding a name sign.
Don't accept a ride from someone claiming to know your booking. Check the company name and reservation details before getting in.
Return trips and flight changes
Going back to the airport
Transportation can also be booked from your hotel, resort or vacation rental to Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport. Your pickup time covers the drive plus check-in, security and border procedures, and your airline's instructions come first. Give the correct departure time and terminal when you book.
If your flight changes
We monitor the arrival of the flight on your reservation, but can't find you on a different one. If any of these change, update them in Manage your booking:

How far is Granada Airport from the city center?
Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport is about 15 km (9 miles) west of Granada, near Chauchina and Santa Fe.
Can you take me to a hotel in the Albaicín?
Yes. Give the full hotel name and address when you book. Many lanes in the Albaicín are closed to cars, so your driver stops at the nearest point a car can reach.
Can you take me to a hotel near the Alhambra?
Yes. We drive door to door to hotels on the Alhambra hill and in the Realejo quarter below it, as well as in the city center around the cathedral.
Can you take me to the Sierra Nevada ski resort?
The Sierra Nevada ski resort is in the mountains southeast of Granada. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Can you take me to Almuñécar or Salobreña?
Almuñécar and Salobreña are on the Costa Tropical, on the coast south of Granada. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Can you take me to Jaén?
Jaén is the other city the airport serves, to the north of Granada. Enter the address in the booking form: when a vehicle is available for that route, the price shows before you pay; if it does not, contact us before you fly.
Is Granada Airport the same as Jaén Airport?
Yes. Its full name is Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport, and it serves both provinces. Its code is GRX.
Which is the closest airport to the Alhambra?
Granada-Jaén Airport, west of the city, is the closest airport to the Alhambra. Many international visitors fly into Málaga instead, which has more routes.
Which airlines fly to Granada?
Vueling flies to Barcelona, Bilbao, Palma, the Canary Islands and Paris Orly; Iberia to Madrid and Melilla; Binter Canarias to Gran Canaria and Tenerife; Air Europa to Palma; and Volotea to Asturias. Transavia flies to Amsterdam.
Is there a bus from Granada Airport?
Yes. An airport bus runs into Granada, timed around the flights, and there is no train to the airport. A private transfer goes door to door, which helps with luggage in the old town.
Do you drive to apartments and vacation rentals in Granada?
Yes. Give the full address, the apartment number and any gate or entrance details, so your driver can find the door and load your bags quickly.
What happens if my flight to Granada is delayed?
We track the arrival of the flight on your reservation, so your driver adjusts to a delay. If your flight number, date or airline changes, or your flight is canceled, update it in Manage your booking so we can move your pickup.
Can I book a ride back to Granada Airport?
Yes. Book a one-way departure or a round trip from your hotel, apartment or vacation rental and give us your flight time, so your pickup leaves enough time for check-in and security.
Is Airport Transportation the same as Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport?
No. Airport Transportation is a private transfer service that books rides from GRX; we are not the airport or its operator. For terminals, airlines and other ways to get around, see our Federico García Lorca Granada-Jaén Airport page.

Yes. There is plenty of room for one suitcase and one carry-on per person.
