LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is one of the three main airports serving New York City, along with JFK and Newark. It sits in East Elmhurst, Queens, on the shore of Flushing Bay, and is the closest of the three to Manhattan (about 8 miles from Midtown).
Most flights are domestic. A federal perimeter rule bars most nonstop flights beyond 1,500 miles, with exceptions for Denver and Saturdays, so transcontinental and overseas flights use JFK or Newark instead. LaGuardia is a hub for American Airlines and Delta Air Lines, and Air Canada, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest and United also fly here. International flights come only from airports with US preclearance, such as Toronto, Montreal and Halifax.
Two terminals are in use, both rebuilt in recent years: Terminal B for every airline except Delta, and Terminal C for Delta. The historic Marine Air Terminal (Terminal A) has had no airline service since May 2026.
There is no rail link. Buses such as the Q70 LaGuardia Link connect with the subway, and most travelers continue by taxi or pre-booked car to Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.

Arrival tips for LaGuardia Airport
LaGuardia has two terminals in use, B and C, and most arrivals are domestic, so you go straight to baggage claim. Flights from Canada arrive precleared: you already passed US customs and immigration before departure.
Check which terminal you land at: Delta uses Terminal C and every other airline uses Terminal B. Your driver meets you at your terminal.
After baggage claim, follow the signs for taxis, ride apps and buses. Licensed yellow taxis wait at the official stands outside each terminal, and ride-app pickups have their own signposted areas. The Q70 LaGuardia Link bus to the subway leaves from the terminals.
Ignore anyone inside the terminal offering rides, and use only the official taxi stand or your pre-booked driver. Traffic around the airport and into Manhattan can be heavy, so allow extra time.
