Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM) is the main airport of Lima and of Peru, located in Callao. It is run by Lima Airport Partners, a concessionaire led by Fraport, and handled about 25.5 million passengers in 2025.
LATAM Airlines, Sky Airline and JetSMART fly from Lima to cities across Peru, including Cusco, Arequipa, Iquitos and Trujillo, and to South America. International carriers include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines to the United States, Avianca and Copa Airlines to Bogotá and Panama City, Aeroméxico to Mexico City, and Iberia, Air Europa, Air France and KLM to Europe.
Since June 1, 2025, all passenger flights use a new terminal on the west side of the airfield, reached from Avenida Morales Duárez over temporary modular bridges. The airport sits about 11 km northwest of Lima's historic center and about 17 km from Miraflores; a permanent access, the Santa Rosa bridge, is still under construction.
From the airport, travelers head to Miraflores, Barranco and San Isidro, to Lima's historic center, or on to Cusco and Machu Picchu, Arequipa, the Amazon around Iquitos, and Paracas on the southern coast.

Arrival tips for Jorge Chávez International Airport
On an international flight you clear Peruvian immigration first. Entry rules depend on your nationality; passports are no longer stamped at Lima, and Migraciones creates an electronic entry record, the virtual Andean Migration Card (TAM), that you can download from its website.
After immigration, collect your bags in the baggage hall and pass through customs into the arrivals hall on the first floor of the new terminal. Information desks, authorized taxi desks and the Airport Express Lima counter are in this area.
For a taxi, book at one of the authorized taxi desks; those cars board in a controlled lane on the first floor reserved for vehicles approved by the airport. Do not accept rides from people offering taxis inside the hall. App taxis and private cars use separate pickup areas outside, so wait inside until your driver confirms the plate.
Lima is mild and dry, with grey skies in winter. Peru uses UTC-5 with no daylight saving time, and the currency is the Peruvian sol (PEN).
Ground transportation
Authorized airport taxis and pre-booked transfers suit most travelers, while Airport Express Lima is the main bus option to Miraflores.

Airport Express Lima
The official airport bus stops at four points in Miraflores, including Parque Kennedy and Larcomar, and takes about 45 to 70 minutes depending on traffic. Its counter is near the arrivals exits; it runs roughly hourly in the daytime and not overnight.
AeroDirecto bus
Public AeroDirecto buses set up by the transport ministry and Lima's transport authority (ATU) link the airport with Lima Norte, central Lima, Pueblo Libre and Callao. They do not serve Miraflores directly and are best for travelers with light luggage.
App taxis
App-based taxis that meet ATU requirements can pick up at the terminal, and the app shows the designated pickup zone. Wait inside until you see the car's plate.
Private transfer
A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall and walks you to the car. Traffic in Lima and Callao is heavy, so allow extra time at rush hour.
