Oslo Airport, Gardermoen (OSL) serves Oslo, the capital of Norway, and sits at Gardermoen in Akershus county, north of the city. It handled about 27.1 million passengers in 2025.
Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) uses Oslo as its hub, and Norwegian and Widerøe run large networks from here. Direct flights link the airport with Norwegian cities from Bergen and Stavanger to Tromsø and Longyearbyen, and with European hubs such as Amsterdam, Frankfurt, London and Istanbul. Long-haul routes include Doha, Dubai, Bangkok and Newark.
All flights use one terminal building. Domestic flights use the A and C gates, Schengen flights the D and E gates, and non-Schengen flights the F gates at the end of the east pier.
The airport lies about 47 km by road from central Oslo. The Gardermoen Line runs in a tunnel under the airport, and Flytoget airport express trains reach Oslo Central Station in about 20 minutes. From here, most travelers head to central Oslo, Lillestrøm, Drammen, Lillehammer or Trondheim, all of which have direct trains.

Arrival tips for Oslo Airport, Gardermoen
If you arrive from outside the Schengen Area, you pass passport control before baggage claim. Travelers who are not EU, EEA or Swiss citizens are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System (EES), which Norway applies at its Schengen external borders and which has been fully operational since 10 April 2026; the planned ETIAS travel authorization is not yet in operation. Flights from other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks, and because Norway is not in the EU, Norwegian customs allowances apply.
After you collect your bags, you exit into the arrivals hall. Flytoget and Vy trains leave from the station under the airport; follow the train signs. The taxi stand is right outside the international arrivals hall. Book a taxi at the booking machines outside the terminal or in a taxi company's app, and do not get into a taxi without a reservation, since fares from unbooked taxis can vary greatly. Pre-booked drivers wait in the arrivals hall.
Oslo is on Central European Time with daylight saving in summer, and Norway uses the Norwegian krone (NOK). Winters are cold and often snowy, so keep warm layers handy from November to March.
