Arrival tips for Mohammed V International Airport
At passport control, many nationalities can enter Morocco without a visa, while others need a visa, e-visa or electronic travel authorization arranged in advance through acces-maroc.ma; paper arrival cards were dropped in 2019.
After collecting your bags and clearing customs, use the exchange desks or ATMs in arrivals, as the Moroccan dirham is hard to obtain outside the country. Note whether you landed at Terminal 1 (Royal Air Maroc and partners) or Terminal 2 (other airlines), because that is where anyone collecting you will wait.
Grand taxis wait directly outside the arrivals building. Agree on the fare before you set off, since it can rise at night or when passengers are not traveling together. Decline offers from people who approach you inside the hall. For the train, follow the signs to the station in the Terminal 1 basement.
Morocco has used GMT (UTC+0) year-round since 20 September 2026, with no daylight saving time. The currency is the Moroccan dirham (MAD), and Casablanca has a mild Atlantic climate.
