Ministro Pistarini International Airport (EZE), widely called Ezeiza, serves Buenos Aires, Argentina, and handles most of the country's long-haul flights. It is run by Aeropuertos Argentina and handled over 12 million passengers in 2025, about 8.5 million of them international.
Aerolíneas Argentinas has its main international base here, with flights to Miami, Madrid, Rome, Cancún and Punta Cana and to cities across Argentina such as Bariloche, Mendoza, Ushuaia and Iguazú. American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines fly to the United States; Iberia, Air Europa, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, ITA Airways and British Airways fly to Europe; and LATAM Airlines, GOL, Copa Airlines, Avianca and Sky Airline link Ezeiza with South America and Panama.
Check-in for all flights is in the Departures Terminal opened in 2023, arrivals use Terminal A, and Terminal C handles domestic departures. The airport sits in Ezeiza, about 22 km (14 mi) south-southwest of central Buenos Aires. Most domestic flights use Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP), a separate airport inside the city.
From Ezeiza, travelers head to Palermo, Recoleta, San Telmo and Puerto Madero, to the downtown area around the Obelisco, or across the city to Aeroparque for flights within Argentina.

Arrival tips for Ministro Pistarini International Airport
On an international flight you clear Argentine immigration first. Citizens of many countries, including the United States, can visit for up to three months without a visa; some nationalities that need a visa can apply online for the electronic travel authorization (AVE) instead.
After immigration, collect your bags at the belts and pass through customs. All arrivals, international and domestic, now come out in Terminal A.
Once you leave the customs area, the Tienda León desk and authorized remis and taxi counters are close to the exit, where you pay for your trip before you get in the car. Pre-booked drivers wait in the arrivals hall outside customs. Rideshare cars pick up at the bays outside Terminal A: turn right after you exit. Do not accept rides offered by people calling out in the hall.
Buenos Aires is on Argentina Time (UTC−3) all year, with no daylight saving time. The currency is the Argentine peso, and seasons are reversed from the Northern Hemisphere, so January is midsummer.
Ground transportation
Remis cars and official taxis booked at the airport counters are the simplest way into Buenos Aires for most travelers.

Book a transfer from EZETaxi and remis from Ezeiza airport
Official taxis and remis cars are booked at counters in Terminal A arrivals, where the fare for your destination is set before you travel. Traffic on the highway into the city can make the trip longer at peak hours.
Tienda León bus
Tienda León buses run from Ezeiza to its city terminal at Carlos Pellegrini 971, near Plaza San Martín and Retiro, in about 1 hour, and to Aeroparque in about 1 hour 20 minutes. You will usually need a taxi from the city terminal to your hotel.
Rideshare
Uber, Cabify and DiDi pick up at the bays outside Terminal A, to the right after you exit customs. Drivers can be hard to find at busy times, so check the app for the exact pickup point.
Bus 8 to the city
City bus line 8 runs from the airport to Buenos Aires and requires a SUBE card, which is sold at the airport. It is slow, with many stops, and is not a good fit with heavy luggage.
Private transfer
A pre-booked driver meets you in the arrivals hall with a name sign and takes you directly to your address. This avoids the counters but needs to be arranged before you land.
Moving between terminals
- 1
Walk between terminals
Terminal A, the Departures Terminal and Terminal C sit next to each other and are reached on foot. After exiting arrivals in Terminal A, turning left leads to the Departures Terminal.
- 2
Domestic to international connections
Since domestic arrivals moved to Terminal A in July 2026, passengers from flights within Argentina arrive in the same building as international arrivals, which shortens connections to international departures.
- 3
Transfer to Aeroparque
Many domestic flights leave from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery in the city, not Ezeiza. Tienda León runs a bus between the two airports that takes about 1 hour 20 minutes; leave plenty of time for the connection.
Terminals
Terminal A
The arrivals terminal for international flights and, since July 2026, for domestic flights too, with a new domestic baggage area. Pickup lanes, taxi stands and bus desks are outside its doors.
Departures Terminal
The departures building opened in April 2023, with check-in sectors A to F used by all airlines. International passengers clear security and emigration here before boarding.
Airlines commonly assigned here: Aerolíneas Argentinas, Aeroméxico, Air Canada, Air Europa, Air France, American Airlines, Arajet, Avianca, Boliviana de Aviación, British Airways, Copa Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Emirates, Flybondi, GOL, Iberia, ITA Airways, JetSMART, KLM, LATAM Airlines, LEVEL, Lufthansa, Paranair, Sky Airline, Turkish Airlines, United Airlines
Terminal C
Used for domestic departures, with its own boarding area for flights within Argentina. Space freed up here is being used to expand domestic and regional preboarding.

Frequently asked questions
How far is Ezeiza airport from Buenos Aires city center?
Ezeiza airport is about 22 km (14 miles) south-southwest of central Buenos Aires, in the town of Ezeiza in Buenos Aires Province. The Tienda León bus takes about an hour to its city terminal near Plaza San Martín and Retiro. By car, travel time depends heavily on traffic on the highway into the city.
Is Ezeiza the same airport as Aeroparque?
No. Ezeiza (EZE) is the main international airport and lies outside the city, while Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) is inside Buenos Aires and handles most domestic and some regional flights. If you connect between them, Tienda León runs a bus that takes about 1 hour 20 minutes, so allow plenty of time between flights.
How many terminals does Ezeiza airport have?
Ezeiza uses three connected passenger buildings. The Departures Terminal, opened in 2023, holds check-in for all airlines and international departures. Terminal A handles all arrivals, both international and, since July 2026, domestic. Terminal C is used for domestic departures. The buildings stand next to each other and are walkable.
Which terminal do I arrive at in Ezeiza?
All arriving passengers at Ezeiza come out in Terminal A. International arrivals have long used it, and a new domestic arrivals area opened there in July 2026, so passengers on flights within Argentina now arrive in the same building. Taxi counters, bus desks and pickup bays are just outside the Terminal A exit.
Which airlines fly from Ezeiza airport?
Aerolíneas Argentinas is the largest airline at Ezeiza. Others include American Airlines, Delta Air Lines and United Airlines to the United States; Iberia, Air Europa, Air France, KLM, Lufthansa, ITA Airways and British Airways to Europe; Emirates and Turkish Airlines; and LATAM Airlines, GOL, Copa Airlines, Avianca, JetSMART and Flybondi in Latin America.
How do I get a taxi at Ezeiza airport?
Book an official taxi or remis at the counters in the Terminal A arrivals area, where the fare for your destination is fixed before the trip. Avoid drivers who approach you in the hall offering a ride. Tienda León also offers remis cars around the clock, and the drive into the city varies with highway traffic.
Is there public transport from Ezeiza airport to Buenos Aires?
Yes. City bus line 8 runs from the airport into Buenos Aires and requires a SUBE card, which you can buy at the airport. It is slow and makes many stops. Tienda León runs a more direct airport bus to its terminal at Carlos Pellegrini 971 and to Aeroparque. There is no train or subway to the airport.
Can I use Uber at Ezeiza airport?
Yes. Uber, Cabify and DiDi pick up arriving passengers at the bays outside Terminal A; after you exit customs, turn right and cross to the pickup lane. Cars stop where there is space, so check the app for the driver's location. Uber also uses a waiting area for drivers next to Terminal C.
Do I need a visa to enter Argentina at Ezeiza?
Citizens of many countries, including the United States, do not need a visa for tourism and can stay up to three months. Your passport must be valid on arrival. Some nationalities that need a tourist visa can apply online for an electronic travel authorization (AVE) if they hold certain valid US visas. Check the official list for your nationality.
How do I get from Ezeiza to Palermo or Recoleta?
Palermo and Recoleta are reached by taxi, remis, rideshare or a pre-booked car from Ezeiza, all of which go directly to your address. The Tienda León bus is another option: it runs to Carlos Pellegrini 971, near Plaza San Martín, from where you continue by taxi or subway to your hotel.
What time zone and currency does Buenos Aires use?
Buenos Aires uses Argentina Time, UTC−3, all year and does not change clocks for daylight saving time. The currency is the Argentine peso. Seasons are the reverse of the Northern Hemisphere, so December to February is summer and June to August is winter.
Who operates Ezeiza airport and how busy is it?
Ezeiza is operated by Aeropuertos Argentina, the concessionaire that has run the airport since 1998. It handled over 12 million passengers in 2025, more than 5% above 2024. About 8.5 million of those passengers flew internationally and about 3.2 million domestically.
