About Chios Island National Airport

Chios Island National Airport "Omiros" (JKH), named after Homer, is the airport for the island of Chios, in the eastern Aegean, Greece. It sits just south of Chios Town, in the Kampos area of old mansions and citrus orchards. It is a small airport, with about 230,000 passengers in 2018, the latest year the source gives.

All flights are domestic. Aegean Airlines and Sky Express fly to Athens, Olympic Air and Sky Express to Thessaloniki, and Sky Express links Chios with the neighboring islands of Lemnos, Mytilene, Samos and Rhodes.

The runway is short, about 1,500 m, so flights use smaller aircraft. The airport is run by the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority.

From the airport, most visitors head into Chios Town and its harbor, to the Kampos estates, south to the mastic villages of Pyrgi and Mesta, or to the beaches of Karfas and Agia Fotia.
