About Aegean Airlines
Aegean Airlines is a Greek airline founded in 1995 that began flying in 1999 and is based in the Athens area. It has been a member of the Star Alliance since June 2010. Since 2013 it has owned Olympic Air, its sister regional airline, which flies mainly domestic routes to the Greek islands under its own brand.
Its main hub is Athens International Airport, with a second hub in Thessaloniki and a base in Larnaca, Cyprus. Further bases at Heraklion, Chania, Rhodes and Kalamata, some of them seasonal, add direct flights to and from the islands. Together, Aegean and Olympic Air serve more than 160 destinations, about 30 of them in Greece, with the rest across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.
The group fleet of about 90 aircraft is made up of Airbus A320 and A321 jets, including the newer A320neo and A321neo, and ATR and Dash 8 turboprops flown by Olympic Air.
Schedules, aircraft assignments, terminals and fare rules can change. Confirm operational details directly with Aegean Airlines before travel.

Practical information
BaggageCabin bags, checked bags, missing luggage
Aegean baggage allowances depend on the fare, cabin, route and Miles+Bonus or Star Alliance status.
On Airbus aircraft, cabin bags can measure up to 56 x 45 x 25 cm; on turboprops, up to 55 x 40 x 23 cm. Whether a carry-on and a personal item are included depends on the fare.
Light fares do not include checked bags. On other fares, the allowance is shown in your booking. Checked bags can measure up to 158 cm in total and weigh up to 32 kg.
Sports equipment, pets, oversized items and medical equipment follow separate rules. Check the official Aegean baggage page before you fly.
Check-in and boardingSteps before departure
Online check-in on aegeanair.com or the Aegean app opens 48 hours before departure and closes 30 minutes before. Airport deadlines vary by airport, so check the check-in times for your departure.
Confirm the operating airline (Aegean or Olympic Air), airport and terminal.
Review passport, visa and entry requirements for your destination.
Check in online or in the app as soon as it opens.
Download the mobile boarding pass or print it.
Allow time for bag drop, security and, on flights outside the Schengen area, passport control.
Lounges
Aegean operates its own business lounges at Athens, Thessaloniki and Larnaca. At other airports it uses partner lounges. Access depends on cabin, Miles+Bonus or Star Alliance status, and the itinerary, so check the location and opening hours before you travel.
Loyalty program
Miles+Bonus is the loyalty program of Aegean and Olympic Air. Members earn miles on Aegean, Olympic Air and Star Alliance flights and with hotel, car-rental, card and shopping partners, and redeem them for award tickets, upgrades and other services. Program rules change, so check your account for the conditions that apply to your trip.
