About Dalaman Airport

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is the airport for Dalaman and the southwest coast of Turkey in Muğla province, between the resort areas of Fethiye and Marmaris on the Turkish Riviera.

Most passengers fly in on seasonal holiday flights from the UK and Europe, with Jet2.com, TUI, easyJet, SunExpress and British Airways among the main airlines in summer. Turkish Airlines, AJet and Pegasus Airlines link Dalaman with Istanbul and Ankara all year. The airport handled about 5.6 million passengers in 2025, close to two-thirds of them on international flights.

There are two terminals a short walk apart. Terminal 2, opened in 2018, is the main terminal and handles international flights; Terminal 1, the original 2006 building, handles domestic flights.

The airport stands about 6 km (4 miles) south of Dalaman town, just off the D400 coastal highway. Göcek and its marinas are about 25 minutes east by road, Fethiye about 45 to 50 minutes, and Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü about an hour. Dalyan and Sarıgerme beach are closer, to the west, and Marmaris and İçmeler are about an hour and a half away.

Arrival tips for Dalaman Airport

On an international flight you arrive at Terminal 2 and go first to passport control. Have your passport ready, with your e-Visa printout if your nationality needs one; many travelers, including UK, US, Canadian and most EU citizens, enter visa-free for short stays.

After passport control you reach the baggage claim hall, which has a duty-free shop for arriving passengers. Then you pass through customs, taking the green channel if you have nothing to declare, and walk out into the arrivals hall.

Outside the arrivals exit, tour company representatives and pre-booked drivers wait with name signs, and taxis from the airport taxi cooperative wait at the curb. The Havaş shuttles to Fethiye and Marmaris leave from the parking area in front of the terminal.

Domestic flights from Istanbul and Ankara may arrive at Terminal 1, a short walk south along a covered walkway, so check your arrival terminal if someone is meeting you. Turkey uses the Turkish lira and stays on UTC+3 all year.

Ground transportation

A pre-booked transfer or taxi suits most holiday arrivals, since the shuttle buses mainly follow domestic flight times.

Book a transfer from DLM

Havaş shuttle to Fethiye and Marmaris

Havaş buses leave from the parking area in front of the terminal for Fethiye bus station via Göcek, and for Marmaris bus station via Ortaca and Köyceğiz. They are timed mainly around domestic arrivals, so a late international flight may have no bus.

Muttaş airport buses

Muğla's municipal transport company runs buses between the airport and Fethiye and Marmaris, with timetables on its website. Check times before you fly, as departures are limited.

Minibus to Dalaman town

Municipal minibuses link the airport with Dalaman town center, boarding on the departures floor. From Dalaman bus station, regional minibuses continue along the coast during the day.

Taxi from Dalaman airport

The Dalaman Airport Taxi Cooperative runs the official taxis, which wait outside the terminal around the clock. A taxi is the quickest option without booking, though long trips to Ölüdeniz or Marmaris cost far more than the bus.

Private transfer

A pre-booked car or van meets you in arrivals and goes straight to your hotel, villa or marina, which suits families, groups and late arrivals.

Car rental

Rental companies have desks at the airport, with cars collected from the parking area. Useful for touring the coast, though resort parking can be tight in summer.

Moving between terminals

  1. 1

    Walking

Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 are linked by a covered walkway of about 200 m, outside the security area. Moving between them for a connection means clearing security again in the second terminal.

  2. 2

    Taxi or pre-booked car

If you are dropped at the wrong terminal with heavy bags, a taxi or your driver can take you round by road in a few minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Which airport is closest to Fethiye?

Dalaman Airport (DLM) is the closest airport to Fethiye, about 45 km (28 miles) away, or roughly 45 to 50 minutes by road along the D400 highway. There is no airport in Fethiye itself, which is why many travelers call Dalaman "Fethiye airport". It also serves Ölüdeniz, Hisarönü and Göcek.

How far is Dalaman airport from Ölüdeniz?

Ölüdeniz is about 55 to 60 km (35 miles) from Dalaman Airport, usually around an hour by road. The route follows the D400 past Göcek to Fethiye, then climbs through Ovacık and Hisarönü down to the beach. Taxis and pre-booked cars go door to door; by bus you change in Fethiye for a minibus to Ölüdeniz.

How far is Dalaman airport from Marmaris?

Marmaris is about 90 to 95 km (around 57 miles) west of Dalaman Airport, roughly an hour and a half by road via Ortaca and Köyceğiz. İçmeler is a few minutes further along the bay. Havaş and Muttaş buses run to Marmaris bus station, and taxis and private transfers go straight to your hotel.

How far is Dalaman airport from Göcek?

Göcek is about 25 km (16 miles) east of Dalaman Airport, around 25 minutes by road along the D400. It is the nearest yachting center to the airport, with several marinas, so many travelers joining a gulet or charter boat land at Dalaman. The Havaş bus to Fethiye passes through Göcek.

How many terminals does Dalaman airport have?

Dalaman Airport has two terminals. Terminal 2, opened in 2018, is the main terminal and handles international flights and some domestic ones. Terminal 1, the original building from 2006, handles domestic flights. They are linked by a covered walkway of about 200 m, so you can walk between them in a few minutes.

Is there a bus from Dalaman airport to Fethiye?

Yes. Havaş shuttle buses run from the parking area in front of the terminal to Fethiye bus station, stopping in Dalaman and Göcek, and Muttaş runs airport buses on the same route. Services are timed mainly around domestic flights, so check the timetable before you land, especially for late international arrivals.

Where are taxis at Dalaman airport?

Official taxis wait outside the terminal around the clock and are run by the Dalaman Airport Taxi Cooperative. Ask for the fare before you set off on longer trips. A taxi goes door to door to Dalaman, Göcek, Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Dalyan or Marmaris, which is easiest with luggage or after the last bus.

Do I need a visa to fly into Dalaman?

It depends on your nationality. UK, US, Canadian and most EU citizens can enter Turkey visa-free for short tourist stays, while other nationalities may need an e-Visa from the official site, evisa.gov.tr, before flying. Your passport should be valid for well beyond your trip; the UK government advises at least 150 days from arrival.

Which airlines fly to Dalaman?

In summer, Jet2.com, TUI, easyJet, SunExpress, British Airways and Wizz Air fly from across the UK, while Corendon, Transavia, Edelweiss, Finnair, SAS and Ryanair add routes from Europe. Turkish Airlines, AJet and Pegasus Airlines connect Dalaman with Istanbul and Ankara all year. Most international routes are seasonal.

Is there a lounge at Dalaman airport?

Yes. The International CIP Lounge is in Terminal 2 international departures, after passport control and opposite Gate 39 since 2025. Reservation holders and partner card holders apply in person at reception, and stays are limited to three hours. A separate CIP lounge serves domestic departures.

Can I buy duty free on arrival at Dalaman airport?

Yes. Terminal 2 has a duty-free shop in the baggage claim hall, so arriving international passengers can shop before customs. Duty-free shops are also in the departures area for your flight home. Your home country's customs allowances apply when you return.

Where can I park at Dalaman airport?

Each terminal has its own parking area directly in front of it, open 24 hours a day all year and monitored. Fees are set by Turkey's state airports authority, DHMİ, and the current tariff is on the airport website. A valet service is also offered, and disabled drivers park free for up to 15 days with documents.

What time zone is Dalaman in?

Dalaman uses Turkey time, UTC+3, all year round, with no change for daylight saving time. That puts it two hours ahead of the UK in summer and three hours ahead in winter, and one hour ahead of most of Western Europe in summer. Check your pickup and flight times against local time.
