About TUIfly
TUIfly (TUIfly GmbH, marketed as TUI fly Deutschland) is a German leisure airline headquartered in Langenhagen at Hannover Airport. The company traces back to Hapag-Lloyd Flug, founded in 1972, and has flown as TUIfly since 2007. It is part of the TUI Group, which also runs the TUI airlines in the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and the Nordic countries. TUIfly is not a member of an airline alliance.
The airline flies from five German bases: Hannover, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich and Stuttgart. Its network is built around holiday destinations, with the Canary Islands, Egypt and Cape Verde at the center of the winter schedule and Spain, Portugal and the Greek islands added in summer. For winter 2026/27 it offers 16 sun destinations, all of them nonstop from Düsseldorf. Many seats are sold as part of TUI package holidays, and flight-only tickets are also available.
The fleet of 23 aircraft is all Boeing 737: 737-800 and 737 MAX 8 jets.
Schedules, aircraft assignments, terminals and fare rules can change. Confirm operational details directly with TUIfly before travel.
Where TUIfly flies
TUIfly flies point to point from Germany to holiday destinations, and routes and frequencies change with the season. Some TUI flights are operated by other TUI Group airlines or partners; check the operating airline when you book.
Canary Islands
Tenerife, Gran Canaria, Fuerteventura and Lanzarote, which together account for nearly half of the winter seats. From Hannover, Gran Canaria and Tenerife are served daily in winter 2026/27.
Egypt and Cape Verde
Hurghada is the main Egyptian destination. Several weekly flights link the major German airports with Sal and Boa Vista in Cape Verde.
Mallorca, Madeira and the Mediterranean
Flights to Palma de Mallorca, including several a week from Hannover in winter, and to Funchal on Madeira. In summer the network adds Greek islands such as Crete (Heraklion), Rhodes, Kos and Corfu.
TUIfly fleet
TUIfly flies an all-Boeing 737 fleet of 23 aircraft. Aircraft can be exchanged with other TUI Group airlines, so the aircraft and operator shown at booking are not guaranteed until departure.
Boeing 737 MAX 8
9 aircraft with 189 seats, used across the network, including longer routes such as Cape Verde.
Boeing 737-800
14 aircraft with 186 seats, flying mainly medium-haul routes such as the Canary Islands and Egypt.
TUIfly cabin classes
TUIfly has a single economy cabin on all flights. Instead of cabin classes, flight-only tickets come in fare types with different baggage, meal and change options. Check the fare conditions before you buy.
Pure
The flight only, with one small personal item. Checked bags, seat reservations, snacks and drinks can be added.
Perfect
Includes one small personal item, one checked bag, a snack and a non-alcoholic drink, and rebooking with conditions up to 7 days before departure.
Seat reservation
Seats can be reserved in advance through TUIfly's seat reservation service.
Practical information
BaggageCabin bags, checked bags, missing luggage
TUIfly baggage allowances depend on the fare and on whether the flight is part of a TUI package holiday. Check your booking for the allowance that applies.
Every fare includes one small item of up to 40 x 30 x 20 cm that fits under the seat. A larger carry-on bag of up to 55 x 40 x 20 cm and 10 kg can be added, depending on fare and booking type.
The Perfect fare includes one 20 kg checked bag per person, including children and infants; the Pure fare has no checked bag included, but bags can be added. TUI package holidays normally include 20 kg; other tour operators' packages can differ.
Sports equipment, strollers, pets, oversized items and medical equipment follow separate rules. Check the official TUIfly website before you fly.
Check-in and boardingSteps before departure
Online check-in for TUIfly flights normally opens about 48 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before departure. At Hannover, airport check-in counters open about 3 hours before departure.
Confirm the operating airline, departure airport and terminal.
Review passport, visa and entry requirements for your destination.
Check in online as soon as it opens.
Download the mobile boarding pass or print it.
Allow time for bag drop, security and, on flights outside the Schengen Area such as Egypt and Cape Verde, passport control.
Lounges
TUIfly fares do not include lounge access, and TUIfly does not run its own lounges. Some airports in its network have lounges operated by the airport or by third parties; check access conditions with the lounge before you travel.
Loyalty program
TUIfly does not currently run a frequent-flyer program, and it is not part of an airline alliance, so its flights do not earn miles with alliance programs. Check your booking for any TUI customer offers that may apply.
