About Thai Lion Air
Thai Lion Air (Thai Lion Mentari Co., Ltd.) is a low-cost airline based in Thailand and part of the Lion Air Group of Indonesia. It started flying in December 2013 and has its head office in the Don Mueang district of Bangkok. It is not a member of an airline alliance and sells fares on its own website, lionairthai.com.
Its main base is Bangkok Don Mueang International Airport (DMK). From there it flies to about 50 destinations: cities across Thailand such as Chiang Mai, Phuket, Krabi and Hat Yai, plus international routes to Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Penang, Bali, mainland China, Taiwan and Japan. Some Japan flights stop in Taipei or Kaohsiung on the way.
The fleet of 34 aircraft is all Boeing: 737-800s and 737-900ERs, each with a single economy cabin.
