Yes. Dum Dum Airport is the former name of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport, and many people in Kolkata still call it that because the airport stands in Dum Dum. It took its current name in 1995. The code CCU comes from Calcutta, the city's name until 2001.
Why is Kolkata airport's code CCU?
The IATA code CCU comes from Calcutta, the English name of the city until it was officially changed to Kolkata in 2001. How many terminals does Kolkata airport have?
Kolkata airport has one passenger terminal in use, the integrated Terminal 2, which opened in 2013. Domestic and international flights use separate wings of the same building.
