Larnaca International Airport (LCA) serves Larnaca on the south coast of Cyprus and is the busiest airport on the island. It handled about 9.9 million passengers in 2025, and it is operated by Hermes Airports, which also runs Paphos International Airport.
Cyprus Airways, Aegean Airlines and Tus Airways base aircraft here, and Wizz Air has a large operation. Flights link Larnaca with Athens, London, Tel Aviv, Vienna, Warsaw and many other European cities, plus Middle East hubs such as Dubai, Doha, Amman, Beirut and Cairo. Many routes to the UK, Scandinavia and Germany run only in summer.
Passengers use one terminal, opened in 2009, with departures on the upper level and arrivals on the ground level. The older terminal building is used for VIP and private aviation.
The airport sits on the coast about 4 km southwest of Larnaca city center, roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car. Nicosia is about 40 to 50 minutes away by road, Ayia Napa about 40 to 55 minutes, and Limassol about 50 to 75 minutes. From here, travelers head to Larnaca's Finikoudes seafront, Ayia Napa, Protaras, Nicosia, Limassol and Paphos.

Arrival tips for Larnaca International Airport
Cyprus is in the European Union but not in the Schengen Area, so every arriving passenger goes through Cypriot passport control, with separate lanes for EU/EEA and Swiss citizens and for other passports. EU citizens can enter with a national ID card; many other nationalities need a Cyprus visa, although holders of a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa can stay up to 90 days without one.
After passport control, collect your bags in the baggage hall and pass through customs into the arrivals hall on the ground level. Allow 30 to 60 minutes from landing to the exit, longer at busy summer peaks.
Outside the arrivals hall, the official taxi rank operates around the clock. Pre-booked drivers usually wait in the arrivals hall with a name sign, and Bolt pick-ups use the collection point the app shows. Kapnos Airport Shuttle has an office inside the terminal.
Cyprus uses the euro and runs on Eastern European Time (UTC+2, UTC+3 in summer). Summers are hot and dry; winters are mild.
Ground transportation
A taxi or pre-booked transfer suits most travelers, while shuttles and buses cover the main towns at fixed stops.

Is Larnaca airport in the city?

How many terminals does Larnaca airport have?
Larnaca airport has one passenger terminal, which opened in 2009 and handles every scheduled and charter flight. Arrivals are on the ground level and departures on the upper level, with check-in, shops and gates above. An older terminal building nearby is used only for VIP and private aircraft, so regular travelers do not need to change terminals.
Which airlines fly to Larnaca airport?
Cyprus Airways, Aegean Airlines and Wizz Air run the largest networks from Larnaca, alongside easyJet, Jet2, TUI Airways, British Airways and Eurowings for European routes. Long-haul connections come through Middle East carriers such as Emirates, Qatar Airways, Gulf Air and Royal Jordanian. Are there taxis at Larnaca airport?
Yes. Taxis wait at the official rank outside the arrivals hall on the ground level and operate 24 hours a day. The ride to Larnaca city center takes about 10 to 15 minutes. Taxis also cover longer trips to Nicosia, Ayia Napa, Limassol and Paphos, though the drive to Paphos takes about 1.5 to 2 hours, so confirm the destination with the driver first.
Is there public transport from Larnaca airport?
Yes. Bus 425 runs from the airport to central Larnaca and on toward Dhekelia. Kapnos Airport Shuttle connects the airport with Nicosia, Ayia Napa and Protaras, plus some services to Paphos Airport, and the Limassol Airport Express runs direct to Limassol. All of these use fixed stops rather than hotel drop-offs, and night service is limited.
Can I use Uber or Bolt at Larnaca airport?
Bolt operates at Larnaca airport, and the app shows the designated collection point and the fare when you book, so you know where to walk after leaving arrivals. If you prefer a fixed arrangement, the official taxi rank is right outside the arrivals hall. Late at night, available Bolt cars can be fewer than during the day.
Do I need a visa or entry form to fly into Larnaca?
Cyprus is in the EU but not in the Schengen Area, so everyone clears Cypriot passport control. EU, EEA and Swiss citizens can enter with a passport or national ID card. What time zone and currency does Cyprus use?
Cyprus uses Eastern European Time, UTC+2, and switches to UTC+3 for daylight saving time from late March to late October. The currency is the euro, and you will find ATMs and currency exchange in the terminal. The climate is Mediterranean, with hot, dry summers and mild, wetter winters, so summer arrivals step out into strong heat.
Who runs Larnaca airport and how busy is it?
