Arrival tips for Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru
Check your terminal before you land: all international flights arrive at Terminal 2, as do Air India, Air India Express and Star Air domestic flights, while IndiGo, Akasa Air, SpiceJet and Alliance Air domestic flights arrive at Terminal 1.
On an international flight you go first to immigration, where foreign visitors need a visa or e-Visa and India's online e-Arrival Card, submitted within 72 hours before landing. Terminal 2 has more than 30 immigration counters and e-gates. Then collect your bags and walk through customs, choosing the green channel if you have nothing to declare. Domestic passengers go straight to baggage claim.
In the arrivals area you will find currency exchange and SIM card kiosks. Outside, follow the signs to the airport taxi counters, the app cab pickup zones, the Vayu Vajra bus bays or the parking lots. Commercial vehicles, including pre-booked cars, wait in designated parking lots rather than at the curb, so expect a short walk with your driver.
India runs on India Standard Time (UTC+5:30) all year and uses the Indian rupee.
Ground transportation
A taxi, app cab or pre-booked car is the usual choice with luggage; the Vayu Vajra bus is the budget option. The airport Metro line is still under construction.
