About Queen Alia International Airport

Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) serves Amman, the capital of Jordan, and is the country's main air gateway. Royal Jordanian is based here and flies across the Middle East, Europe and North America, while flynas, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates, flydubai, Pegasus Airlines, Wizz Air and other airlines link Amman with the Gulf, Turkey, Egypt and Europe. Dubai, Jeddah, Cairo, Riyadh and Istanbul were the busiest destinations in 2025.

All flights use a single terminal, with arrivals on the lower level, departures above, and gates on North and South piers beyond a central security and shopping area.

Arrival tips for Queen Alia International Airport

After landing, follow the signs to immigration. Many nationalities can get a Jordanian visa on arrival at the counters before passport control, and a Jordan Pass bought before travel can waive the visa fee if you stay at least two nights; check the rules for your passport. Then collect your bags and pass through customs into the arrivals hall, where you will find ATMs, SIM card shops and 24-hour car rental desks.

Outside the main exit, the official Airport Taxi kiosk issues a receipt that you hand to your driver, and fares are set by law. The Sariyah Airport Express kiosk and its yellow buses are opposite. Pre-booked drivers wait in the arrivals area. Politely decline unofficial drivers who approach you inside the terminal.

Jordan uses the Jordanian dinar (JOD) and stays on UTC+3 all year. Summers are hot and dry, and winters are cool, with occasional rain.
