About Smartwings

Smartwings is a Czech airline, officially Smartwings, a.s., headquartered at Prague Airport. It was founded in 1997 as Travel Service, a charter airline for Czech tour operators, launched the Smart Wings brand in 2004 and took the Smartwings name in 2018. Since October 2024 it has operated all Czech Airlines flights, which still fly under the Czech Airlines brand. In October 2026 Pegasus Airlines of Turkey completed its acquisition of Czech Airlines and the Smartwings Group. Smartwings does not belong to an airline alliance.

Prague Airport is Smartwings' main base, with scheduled flights to European cities, the Canary Islands, Madeira, the Azores and the Middle East, and charter flights for tour operators to Mediterranean and Red Sea resorts. Subsidiaries in Slovakia, Poland and Hungary fly charters from those countries. The group serves about 80 destinations in 20 countries.

The group fleet of about 45 aircraft is mainly Boeing 737-800, 737 MAX 8 and 737-900ER jets, plus Airbus A220-300 and A320 jets.

Schedules, aircraft assignments, terminals and fare rules can change. Confirm operational details directly with Smartwings before travel.
