Arrival tips for Václav Havel Airport Prague
If you arrive on a flight from outside the Schengen Area, you land at Terminal 1 and go through passport control, where the EU Entry/Exit System (EES) records fingerprints and a facial photo of non-EU visitors on short stays, and the planned ETIAS travel authorization was not yet in operation as of October 2026. Schengen flights use Terminal 2, where most passengers have no passport check.
Collect your bags in the baggage hall of your terminal and walk out into the public arrivals hall. The two halls are separate but joined by a connecting building.
Uber Airport is the airport's official taxi service: order it in the Uber app, at a self-service kiosk or at the service counter, then meet the car at the pick-up points in front of the Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 arrivals halls. Use this service rather than drivers who approach you in the hall. Bus and trolleybus stops are directly outside both terminals, and you need a ticket before boarding; ticket machines accept contactless cards. Pre-booked drivers wait in the arrivals hall of your terminal.
Prague uses Central European Time (UTC+1, UTC+2 in summer), and the currency is the Czech koruna (CZK), not the euro.
Ground transportation
Trolleybus 59 to the metro is the fastest public route into central Prague for most travelers, while taxis and private transfers suit heavy luggage and late arrivals.
