About Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport

Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (OLB) is the airport for Olbia and the Gallura region of northeast Sardinia, Italy, and the gateway to the Costa Smeralda.

Most flights are seasonal and peak from late spring to early fall. Volotea, easyJet, Ryanair, Aeroitalia, ITA Airways, Neos and Wizz Air link Olbia with cities across Italy, and in summer easyJet, British Airways, Jet2.com, Lufthansa, Eurowings, Condor, Transavia, Norwegian and many others add routes from the UK, Germany, France, Scandinavia and beyond, with Delta flying seasonally from New York JFK and flydubai from Dubai.

Flights use one main terminal, with five jet bridges and 16 gates; a second building, Terminal 2, opens in summer only for charter check-in.

The airport stands about 4 km from the center of Olbia, close to the city's Isola Bianca ferry port. Porto Cervo and the Costa Smeralda are about 30 km to the north, past Porto Rotondo and Arzachena, with Palau and its ferries to La Maddalena farther along the coast, while San Teodoro and its beaches lie to the south.

Arrival tips for Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport

Flights from Italy and other Schengen countries arrive without passport checks. If you fly in from outside the Schengen area, such as the UK, the US or Dubai, you line up at passport control, where non-EU travelers are registered in the EU Entry/Exit System. On busy summer days, when several flights land together, expect lines at passport control and baggage claim.

All scheduled flights arrive at the main terminal. After baggage claim and customs you come out into the arrivals area, where you find the information desk, left luggage, lost and found, ATMs and a currency exchange.

Outside, the taxi stand is in front of arrivals, and the stop for city buses 2 and 10 to Olbia is about 50 meters away; buy tickets from the machine in the arrivals area. The car rental building is about 50 meters from the terminal, a short walk. Pre-booked drivers meet passengers in the arrivals area.

Italy is on Central European Time and uses the euro.

Ground transportation
