About Volotea
Volotea is a Spanish low-cost airline that links small and mid-sized European cities with direct flights. It was set up in 2011 by Carlos Muñoz and Lázaro Ros, the founders of Vueling, and made its first flight from Venice in April 2012. Its corporate offices are in Barcelona and its registered office is at Asturias Airport. Volotea is not a member of an airline alliance.
Volotea does not run a single hub. It flies point to point from 21 bases in France, Italy and Spain, including Bordeaux (BOD) and Venice (VCE), with a 22nd base opening in Ancona in December 2026. In 2026 it serves about 110 airports with more than 430 routes across Europe and to Morocco and Algeria. France is its main market, and many routes are seasonal, toward beaches and islands in summer.
The fleet of about 41 aircraft is made up of Airbus A319 and A320 jets, rising to about 45 in the summer peak.
Schedules, aircraft assignments, terminals and fare rules can change. Confirm operational details directly with Volotea before travel.
