About SAS
SAS, short for Scandinavian Airlines, is the flag carrier of Denmark, Norway and Sweden. It was founded in 1946 as a joint venture of the three countries' airlines and is headquartered in Solna, near Stockholm. The airline is run by SAS AB and has been a member of the SkyTeam alliance since September 2024. Air France-KLM holds a minority stake and has agreed to become the majority owner, subject to regulatory approval.
SAS has three hubs: Copenhagen, Stockholm Arlanda and Oslo. Copenhagen is the main connecting hub and the base for most long-haul flights. Together with its subsidiaries SAS Connect and SAS Link and its contracted partners, SAS flies to around 150 destinations across Scandinavia, the rest of Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East, with many seasonal leisure routes to Southern Europe in summer.
The fleet of about 140 aircraft combines Airbus A320-family jets, Airbus A330 and A350 widebodies, and Embraer, ATR and CRJ regional aircraft.
Schedules, aircraft assignments, terminals and fare rules can change. Confirm operational details directly with SAS before travel.

Practical information
BaggageCabin bags, checked bags, missing luggage
SAS baggage allowances depend on the fare, cabin, route and EuroBonus or SkyTeam status.
Most fares include a cabin bag plus a small personal item. SAS Go Light fares include only a personal item that fits under the seat. Size and weight limits are shown during booking.
Checked bags depend on fare: SAS Go Light does not include one, and higher fares and cabins include more. Bags can be added when you book or later in My Trips.
Sports equipment, musical instruments, pets and mobility aids follow separate rules. Check the official SAS baggage page before you fly.
Check-in and boardingSteps before departure
Online check-in on flysas.com or the SAS app normally opens 30 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before. Follow the check-in and bag-drop deadlines shown in your booking, which are longer for long-haul flights.
Confirm the operating airline, airport and terminal.
Review passport, visa and entry requirements for your destination.
Check in online or in the app as soon as it opens.
Download the mobile boarding pass or print it.
Allow time for bag drop, security and, on flights outside the Schengen Area, passport control.
Lounges
SAS operates its own lounges at its Scandinavian hubs and at some other airports, and SAS passengers can use SkyTeam partner lounges elsewhere. Access depends on cabin, EuroBonus or SkyTeam status, and the itinerary. Check the location and opening hours before you travel.
Loyalty program
EuroBonus is SAS's loyalty program. Members earn points on SAS and SkyTeam flights and with partners such as car rental companies and credit cards, and redeem them for flights and upgrades. Program rules change, so check your account for the conditions that apply to your trip.
