About Edelweiss
Edelweiss is a Swiss leisure airline, officially Edelweiss Air AG, headquartered in Kloten at Zurich Airport. It was founded on 19 October 1995 and today belongs to the Lufthansa Group as a sister company of Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS). Edelweiss is not a member of an airline alliance.
Zurich Airport is the airline's only hub, and all of its flights start there. For the winter 2026/27 season Edelweiss plans flights to 69 destinations in 33 countries: beach and island destinations around the Mediterranean and in the Canary Islands, Finnish Lapland and northern Scandinavia, Egypt and Morocco, and long-haul routes to Mexico, the Caribbean, Costa Rica, Colombia, the United States, Canada, southern and eastern Africa, the Indian Ocean, Sri Lanka and Thailand.
The fleet of about 23 Airbus aircraft combines A320 and A320neo jets on European and North African routes with A350-900 and A340-300 jets on long-haul routes; the A350 is replacing the older A340.
Schedules, aircraft assignments, terminals and fare rules can change. Confirm operational details directly with Edelweiss before travel.

Edelweiss fleet
Edelweiss flies an all-Airbus fleet of about 23 aircraft. The aircraft shown at booking is not guaranteed until departure.
Airbus A350-900
The newer long-haul jet, with Business Class, Economy Max and Economy. More are joining the fleet to replace the A340.
Airbus A340-300
The older four-engine long-haul jet, being phased out in favor of the A350. It sometimes flies busy European holiday routes in peak periods.
Airbus A320 and A320neo
The short- and medium-haul fleet for routes within Europe and to North Africa. More A320neo jets are joining from the Lufthansa Group.
Edelweiss cabin classes
Cabins depend on the aircraft and route. Check the seat map and fare conditions before you buy.
Business Class (long-haul)
On the A350-900, seats in a 2-2-2 layout convert to flat beds, with a large personal screen.
Economy Max
Economy seats on long-haul jets with more legroom and recline than standard Economy, sold as an upgrade.
Economy
The standard cabin on every Edelweiss flight. Baggage, seat selection and change rules depend on the fare.
Practical information
BaggageCabin bags, checked bags, missing luggage
Edelweiss baggage allowances depend on the fare, travel class and route.

Check-in and boardingSteps before departure
Online check-in on flyedelweiss.com opens 23 hours before departure and closes 1 hour before, at departure airports where it is offered. Elsewhere, collect your boarding pass at the airport counter. Flights booked under a SWISS flight number use SWISS online check-in.
Confirm the operating airline, airport and terminal.
Review passport, visa and entry requirements for your destination.
Check in online as soon as it opens, 23 hours before departure.
Save the boarding pass to your phone or print it, or collect it at the airport if online check-in is not offered.
Allow about 2 hours for short-haul and 3 hours for long-haul flights for bag drop, security and passport control.
Lounges
Edelweiss does not run its own lounges. Miles & More status holders flying on a SWISS flight number can use lounges at Zurich under their status benefits. Access for other travelers depends on cabin and itinerary, so check the lounge details for your departure airport before you travel.
Loyalty program
Edelweiss has no frequent-flyer program of its own. Miles & More miles and status points are credited only when the flight is booked under a SWISS flight number (LX8000 to LX8499); bookings made directly with Edelweiss do not earn Miles & More miles. Program rules change, so check the conditions for your trip.
