First Class passengers can bring two carry-on bags of up to 10 kg each; Economy and Premium Economy passengers can bring one bag of up to 8 kg. The allowance for Business Class and the size limits depend on the route, so check them on ceair.com. A small personal item that fits under the seat is allowed in addition.
On international and regional routes the allowance is counted in pieces, with a maximum of 23 kg per piece in Economy and Premium Economy and 32 kg in Business and First. Domestic flights within China use a weight allowance. The number of pieces depends on the route, cabin and fare.
Sports equipment, pets, oversized items and medical equipment follow separate rules. Check the official China Eastern website before you fly.

China Eastern Airlines airports
Shanghai has two airports, and China Eastern uses both. Long-haul and most international flights leave from Shanghai Pudong (PVG), east of the city. Shanghai Hongqiao (SHA), west of the city, handles domestic flights plus a few short routes to Tokyo Haneda, Seoul Gimpo, Hong Kong, Macau and Taipei Songshan. The two airports are far apart, so check which Shanghai airport and terminal are on your ticket before you book a transfer.
The main international hub. China Eastern flights at Pudong use Terminal 1, and flights to Europe, North America, Australia, New Zealand and Buenos Aires depart from here, along with many Asian and domestic routes.
